When you factor in how good that MF3 looked against Arsenal... there was no need to rush him back in..

Not a whole of positives to take away from this
playing with ten men at he Etihad for >70 minutes never was gonna bring many positives

Move on and regroup

That said it will be interesting to see how long Mane is gone for. Will they stick with a 3 match ban for violent conduct?

And does Cou come back in as the LW again or do you use Ox? I like having quality options...

I don't think he deserves 3 games, but we'll see...

Hypothetically if a 3-match ban was enforced, would that be PL games only?

It will be 3 matches. Mane becomes a Champions League only type of selection until October.

I think domestic cup games come into play... not 100% sure..

If so, we have Burnley/Leicester/Leicester

So I guess he could return for the Newcastle match by serving a suspension against LC in the EFL cup, right?

Regardless, if he stays healthy he should be able to play against Utd on Oct 14. That one will be significant.

BTW all game I noticed in this game that if the ball ever got past Matip, he never sprinted to try to make up the distance, he trotted and surrendered play.

THAT is why Klopp wants VVD. Last year in the Southampton game I saw VVD run down Mane from behind and break up the play. Matip doesn't even try.

I feel the same way.

After Mane got sent off and the 2nd goal, I was like "Well shite... OK, moving on."

Well it doesn't help when you're losing on the road while down a man. Not that it's ok but that's a demoralizing feeling man

Even before Sadio raised his boot we look suspect as hell in the back. I'm sick of commenting on it but it just jumps out at you about this team right now. When we face teams that we cannot overwhelm in attack and can finish when given the chance we are in some trouble. On to the CL, we need some good vibes again.

both Matip and Klavan lack pace... that was always scary against their front two...

Yep, I truly think we were gonna go into the half at 1-1 until Sadio drew the red.
