Great win!
I could get used to this.

3 more points, and a solid win... So do we give some of our front three a rest this week seeing as we have a 5 goal cushion over Porto right now?
Posted on 2/24/18 at 10:54 am to Tigerfan7218
We don’t play Porto until next week, 3/6.

Ah shite, was a week off, don't know why I thought it was this week, sucks because it's nice seeing LFC back in the UCL
Posted on 2/24/18 at 10:55 am to Tigerfan7218
It's the week after... But before Man U... I hope we can, because United will need a full strength squad to advance..
Posted on 2/24/18 at 10:56 am to Tigerfan7218
But I agree, no need to go Full Metal in the next Porto match.
Posted on 2/24/18 at 10:58 am to TFTC
Can't imagine we won't, have them on the bench for sure, but give the fringe guys some minutes in a knock out stage match

If you think of where this club was when Klopp took over the transformation has been unbelievable. The best thing is that he refuses to settle for anything especially in the market. He has a long term plan and has a very short list of players that will fill his roles. The smart and patient plan of building the roster along with upgrades to Anfield and the Kirkby project and this is one hell of a time to be a Reds supporter.

Yeah we've come a long way in not a whole bunch of time, I'd still like to see us win some silverware soon, but I trust Klopp and his process...
Know what let's just win ole Big ears for the sixth time

Why not, I like your thinking brother.

I feel like right now the team is playing as good as it has all year.
I know losing a player like Coutinho does nothing to improve a squad technically, but might losing a player that DOESN'T WANT TO BE THERE improve a squad mentally thus resulting in better technical play (especially team play). I do believe that is what Klopp always seeks with his squads, so I think there's something to it.
Plus, one thing about the subtraction of Coutinho who played primarily off of the left wing, no Coutinho has meant that Mane has NECESSARILY become more involved in the game offensively. I think we can tell that that has been true for a number of matches now. Also, in becoming more involved offensively, he's become more involved overall with a resulting improvement in his defensive play too.
This squad has had goals from Day One of the 2017-18 season. As much as they liked Phil, I think they were feeling the distraction from their goals while he was still here. Kloppo removed that distraction and now I think we're finally seeing the deadly weapon that is the result.
(P.S. Obviously another cause for squad improvement has been the introduction of VVD. And this has obviously improved the solidity of our backline and given our frontline more confidence that they can operate in the opponents defensive side at will.)

We are 13W 5D and 1L since the Spurs drubbing in October... I think the addition of VVD has helped us a lot at the back...
If we stay healthy, the gamble of not replacing Coutinho immediately, may just pay off.. He's obviously a big creative miss and he was playing well for us, but others have answered the call so far with his departure..
We have the most favorable remaining fixtures of the teams competing for top 4... no excuse not to finish in a UCL spot, but I hope we make a statement for next season and secure 2nd...

Jorginho's name is making the rumor mill today... great DLP, but not one to really protect the back 4...
A lot of teams are after him too..
Playing like that, it pisses me off to see us losing Emre for free... Thought he was great yesterday as the DM..

I love Jorginho. I think he’s exactly what Klopp wants Henderson to be considering we haven’t really used or been after a true DM. Saw someone make the comparison to Xabi Alonso and I can definitely see it, but he’d need some other runners next to him in midfield who are willing to track back.

exactly... I was going to make the Pirlo comparison at Juve... needed Marchisio, Vidal, etc...
His passing is incredible and could really help us break teams down when they park the bus..
We'll have Naby that fits the mold...

CPFC fricked us... do we want a draw and 2nd on GD or a CFC win and sole possession for now?
Posted on 2/25/18 at 8:21 am to TFTC
Yea he’s definitely a regista
Would be great at chipping balls over the top for our front 3

I'm all in on sole possession, but could live with a draw.
I say that with no knowledge of scores right now.

both matches started favorable but they weren't meant to be...

Can someone explain to me the Can situation?
WTF does he want to leave for Juve? Do we not want to pay him?
He's basically got the middle spot locked for the future or are we not willing to promise him that?
Why would anyone choose an Italian team over a top 2-3 EPL side in the knockout UCL stages blows my mind.
You have to try, like really hard, to even watch Serie A anymore.
