Donovan would still be useful on this team. A lot more useful than some of the guys we have.

Today during the match, I turned to one of my fellow AOs and said, it sure would be nice to bring Donovan on right now. Still stick my my original reaction to the decision and say it really wasn't going to matter anyways. This thread is unreal. We just made it out of a group that includes the #2 and #4 ranked squads. I know the rankings don't mean much, but it's nice that we are moving on. Everyone seems to be nitpicking everything. Let's give Jurgy some credit. After the "Jungle Match" we were still moving pretty well at the end. His at least has our guys fit.

You can leave your 4th CB at home (let's call that Omar), your backup LB (Chandler) and your backup RB (Yedlin) and replace them with one guy.
Yedlin, srsly?

Yes. It's unfortunate that you're unable to separate the player from the role he plays.

If you need pace in the last 15 minutes of the game, there are others in the pool that could provide that. If we aren't relying on Bedoya to play heavy minutes perhaps he could. Brek Shea (despite his overall shittiness) did it throughout the past cycle and was pretty effective at it. And if we're in "need some speed and creativity" mode in the last twenty minutes, you're borderline special needs if you don't want Donovan filling that role.

Either way, I assume you didn't read where I said (in the same post):

For those that clamor for the inclusion of Yedlin, that's easy - replace Green.

So, I'm wrong that Brek Shea came in to many US games late as a sub over the past three years and made an impact by just running down the sideline?

I'm not saying that Brek Shea should be here - I'm saying that there is more than one player in the pool that can provide what Yedlin has.

I'd hope you aren't that dense and have watched more than 6 US games before forming your opinions - but this week on the SB hasn't given me much hope.

Brek = GOAT

It's pretty great that he has been able to get this experience and make a positive contribution like he has.

I think almost everyone is happy besides Wondo, Davis, and Chandler.
Davis had his shot and underperformed. Would be nice to see Wondo get some significant minutes.
