They are offering less money to Arsenal, but it will cost them more supposedly after transfer fee, agent fees, and wages.

I still don't understand why City are even in the bidding war. Obviously, Pep knows way more than me, but I think Alexis would be a black hole in that offense.

He probably sees Alexis as an Aguero replacement. Also Pep will coach some of that carelessness out of Alexis. He will be surrounded by world class players and as a result will probably trust them more than our guys. You can see how Alexis only really trusts Ozil in our squad.

That's probably true. I don't remember Alexis turning the ball over so much when he first got here. There was probably some naïve trust back then.

I do. Dude totally screwed up our game with his over-dribbling. But he scored, so that is all that mattered. If we had a team that could function positionally, Alexis would never have fit in. The fact he was afforded an insane amount of freedom meant everything had to go through him. It was great when he was playing well, but it hasn't been all that great this season.

Hard to get excited over any transfer until Wenger is out. It doesn’t matter who we pick up, this team has shown nothing for me to think they can turn it around in the second half.

The more I watch the more I think it’s tatics more than players just from the guys they’ve brought in. Laz has been ineffective for the most part when you put the entire season in perspective. He’s a better player than he’s showing. Also I think Xhaka is a hell of a lot better player than he’s been this season. If we can play him in a DCM role it would be perfect.

All in all. My hope is we sell Alexis and replace him with young talent and play for the future. It doesn’t look like we’ll make the top 4 again. Not to be a Debbie ??

nah it's not being a Debby downer, you're telling the truth. Top four hopes are gone for me. Best chance at CL is through Europa.

Honestly I wouldn't be against packing up shop in the league like United did last year and putting all our eggs in the Europa basket. It'd get valuable experience against top teams for the youth (obviously not against Spurs, Chelsea, etc. but the smaller teams).

Need to just go after the silverware available--which are more winnable than most people think--and happen to be two of the only three (might be wrong) Wenger hasn't won yet

Everton close to agreement with Arsenal to sign Theo Walcott for in excess of £20m. #EFC football/financial offer beat rivals. Likely played last #AFC game (397 apps, 108 goals). Money to go towards transfers - Aubameyang/Malcom + Mkhitaryan (Sanchez swap), unlikely to get all 3
Goodbye, Theo.

This is on Wenger, he let's Sanchez and Ozil do whatever they want when playing. Sometimes it works, most times it doesn't.

Even if we somehow win the Eruopa league. It's time to move on. Only thing I'm hopeful for is Stan sees how well the Rams are doing with a young up and coming coach. And wants the same for Arsenal.

I think Theo leaving is best for both sides. He gets to play and try to earn a WC spot for England. We get 20 mill and we get his wages off the books.

True, but I'll miss the guy. 12 years is a long time at the same club. Will never forget his 93 potential on FIFA 07.

Theo leaving is best for himself, he wasn't given any fair opportunities since the Palace game last April. Ever since that game he's been outcast so him leaving is something I understand since he wants to go to Russia this summer.
Overall it feels like his potential was unfulfilled but I'm going to miss him.

I'm a Walcott fan but geeze, how much of that 20M is bonus for him being English? Pretty pleased to see that fee with his injury history and his absence of any sort of form given all the changes to the team the past couple years.

I think it is a mistake to let Theo go. Welbeck gets way more chances and is far less clinical. Theo is a superb wide forward, and could excel in the role if he had the chance.

My brain is too small to understand why signing Aubameyang is a good move. Someone dumb it down for me. Can he and Laz play together?

I've been thinking about it for the last 24 hours or so. My conclusion is that I have absolutely no idea if or how it will work.

We don't have a clear transfer policy. It's basically buy whoever is immediately available and jam them into the squad.
