but offseason mode kicked in when I read this. If this has an impact on Arsenal, would it make him be even more stingy with Arsenal or could it make him more likely to sell?

Usmanov should make him an offer he can't refuse to become majority owner.

I read that he's ready to sell his Arsenal shares to join the Everton set up. Kroenke refuses to sell his shares to Usmanov so I guess his getting impatient. Plus Usmanov former business partner owns Everton.

The Rams struck gold with Sean McVay and I think they see the same traits in Arteta.

Yeah, gave me hope knowing Josh was more involved. I figured they saw what happened with the rams and they would finally push wenger out if he didnt step down. A younger guy could come in and win.

Im sad hes going, but its time. Just still not sure on Arteta. I really wanted Jardim. Arteta will have played with some of these guys, can he be hard on them if needed? Will the team respect him more? Less? How long do you give him?

The GENERAL CORPORATE PLAN is spot on. Hire an unproven coach who has never managed. He will have no transfer authority.

How the frick is this like orgeron at all? Ed orgeron was the head coach for our rivals. Ed orgeron gets to pick or have a chance to recruit every player on the team.

This is like the exact opposite.

Mikel Arteta was Captain for much of that time.

Holee shite, he held this club together for 5 years. without him, this team would have fell out of the top 4 way sooner. I feel like those teams were less talented. At least defensively and really only had RVP as world class going forward. who was often hurt during that. Even think about the guys playing in goal during that time period too.

yeesh, brush up my man.

He was certainly the lynchpin for what we did around. His entry passes were key to basically every offensive move. It's unfair to label him as mentally weak as those problems existed ever since Eduardo's injury.

Arsenal close to appointing boss, next week likely. Start of continental model: head coach slots into predefined structure, will contribute to recruitment decisions & have veto. Transfer targets were discussed with interviewees, pre-sales budget ~£50m #AFC

Here's an in depth explanation in the full article. LINK Ornstein says the Allegri whispers won't die. Maybe that's why Arteta hasnt been announced yet. Perhaps we are making one last push for Allegri.

The 50 mill makes sense now. It's before sales. We have a bunch of deadwood(Ospina,Perez, etc) to move on. That should put us closer to 100 mill. If we sale Ramsey(please dont) and/or Hector(only for a huge sum) it will push us way over 100 mill.

Rather sell Hector than Ramsey, would prefer to keep both. Bellerin hasn’t improved like I expected but he’s still promising and was mostly solid this year.

Would prefer Allegri to Arteta for obvious reasons but for some reason Arteta intrigues me.

Contrary to popular opinion, it is consistently reiterated by the club that American owner Stan Kroenke is desperate for success and it might not be coincidental that a lot of the changes have come as his son, Josh - a fellow director - has spent a greater amount of time around Arsenal, become a more visible presence and exerted increasing influence.
Maybe Josh will be Arsenal's saving grace from his father.

Seems like Stan was behind extending Arsene, Gazidis wasnt. But if things didnt turn around then Arsene wouldnt see out his contract. Also makes sense that Josh comes around when the team started faltering a long with other backroom changes.

Very interesting article giving an in depth analysis of our transfer budget. Arsenal’s “£50m budget” explained

Quote from the article

quote:

The key point that very few journalists make is that Arsenal have around £50m to spend this summer. Not a £50m transfer budget. “Arsenal hand manager £50m transfer budget” will get more hits than “Arsenal have £50m to spend on wages & transfer fee amortisation”. And then for the majority of gossip red tops, where journalists are paid to create hit garnering articles for advertising revenue, they do not have time to go into the truth. As the truth won’t sell.

Yeah transfer fees are amortized so there’s more to spend than it seems. Especially now that Ozil and Alexis’ transfer fees are off the books.

It all depends on who we spend it one. We need to get Benjamin Pavard from Stuttgart. He's amazing.

The names I've seen thrown around so far are Bernd Leno, Sokratis, Caglar Soyuncu, and Seri. Looks like we are going to sign at least one CB if not two(probably wishful thinking). Also looks like we are going to target keeper and central midfield. Makes sense as those are our biggest weaknesses.

Hector needs to quit thinking he's a fashion model and improve his game. Some of the shite he posts is so euro trash.

He looks like a fool. No other way to state it. I mean you do you Hector but it's so cringe worthy. And he really isn't even THAT good.
