MLS, in general, is great for the USMNT though I also agree with HottyToddy7 that it's also great for a lot of CONCACAF teams.
(Really, if the league is to improve overall it will likely be going the route of the Mexican league and building deeper squads by signing even more solid players from CONCACAF and COMNEBOL countries which will continue to help all the talent pools)
To me, being much more a fan of the USMNT than the MLS, the "Bradley example" (or even Diskerud) is really the major downside.
That the league "overpays" for American players who would be much sharper form when called up for the NT if they were fighting tooth and nail for a starting spot in Serie A or Bundesliga every practice session and used to playing against a few more world class players in matches.

Exactly. I also believe that the US needs CONCACAF to improve. Better competition in CONCACAF will help the USMNT.
