Based in a village of approximately 3,000 inhabitants, TSG Hoffenheim was initially formed in 1899 and never went higher than the fifth tier of German football until the turn of the 21st century, when an alumni of the club put his money where his heart was. Dietmar Hopp, billionaire and co-founder of German multinational software company SAP, grew up in the village and was not just a prominent resident, but also played in TSG’s youth team. It was his financial investment that was the catalyst for an extraordinary transformation from Kreisliga A, the ninth tier of the national football pyramid to Bundesliga outfit in just 18 years.

No faith in the 28-year old?

That is impressive, it would be like FC United making it all the way to the PL in the next 6 or 7 years.

Not even close, you need to do some research
Only if FC United had a super rich owner and then did shady stuff to get around league rules.

This. They don't have a clue how DFB works with the 50+1 rule.

Fair enough, I don't know anything about it.
Strictly from a rise through the ranks perspective, that's what it would be though.

yeah, I haven't really dug too much into it... but how is it different from Bayer and Wolfsburg?

It's more like RB Leipzig. Wolfsburg and Bayer were clubs pretty much for factory workers to have something to do after work. Hoff is a completely fake club and almost became a different club 10 years ago.
