I didn't really have a dog in this fight, but I've certainly turned into a full on Spanish fan for this game.
The Dutch are pure garbage. If your out-talented and out skilled, playing dirty isn't allowed because you are inferior.

Both teams are trying to prevent the other team from having any sustained possessions, that is why there have been so many fouls. It's been ugly but that's probably been the hardest half for spain because they haven't been able to play the way they like to play at all

it's been exciting. sloppy, but exciting.
the dutch should most CERTAINLY be down to at least 10 men. fricking de jong is a horrible evil douche. i know we all knew that from the stewhawk incident, but that mofo is a pos. anyone who is a neutral in this game, how the frick can you cheer for a team with that asshat on it?! sergio was thisclose

Overall talent, Spain has the edge. They are strong at all areas. Offensively they are more talented, but not by as much.
Dutch are garbage because they are playing about as dirty as a team can here, and its embarrassing to the sport as a whole.
If the guy is better than you, cleating him in the chest is not "heroic" nor "good defense".
