Casillas should be able to demand sex from every woman in Spain. Spain does not come close to winning the Cup without him. He was the player of the tourney.

They would have given it before upon his asking. Now they will be offering it without the asking.

you weren't around for the 2 hours of arguing about the call

In my view, the nature of the game forced the ref into action a lot more than even he would have wanted to be.
Yes, he missed de Jong's red, and yes, he should have awarded a corner late on, but the vast majority of cards handed out were just.
The Dutch decided to be physical to thwart Spain's passing attack, and it finally bit them in the arse.
Even though I was supporting the Dutch, I was appalled by the Dutch display in this match.
Spain were the better side, and hats off to them for getting the winner.

I like Spain, but I will say the bashing of the Dutch team by everybody is way overblown. Outside of the deJong's challenge, the worst foul of the game was Puyol's pretty vicious challlenge from behind. He's a straight up thug himself. The team doing the majority of the diving and flopping was Spain. It's not like Spain was playing the Beautiful Game while the Dutch were just thugging it up.
The Dutch actually generated more chances in the first 90. Spain is actually the team that plays the slow, defensive style.

And I've watched it several times. Elia was in no way fouled. You are obviously just blind to it, and either hate Spain or just want there to be some atrocious call that lead to Holland getting screwed over.
Plain and simple, there was no foul there. Both defenders turned and played almost perfect defense there and Elia decided to flop like a typical Holland Pussy!

we know you have an anti holland bias but calling the dutch pussies after the shite spain pulled all game , come on now

Van Bommel's early one was pretty bad and just as bad as Puyol's early one.
They fouled a ton though, and it was signs of being a weaker team in my opinion.
They put the onus on the ref early with their dirty play.

Once again, I think you way overstate your position. I think Elia was pushed, but I completely understand the ref not blowing the whistle. Just like before, it was a judgment call, and the ref made a judgment. I don't think it qualifies as a "bad call" to not call it, but I won't go so far as to say there is no way to call it a foul.
Honestly, since I'm a fan of just shut up and play, I'm glad the ref didn't call it. I think the ref was absolutely atrocious all game, but I do think his two most controversial calls (the red and the Elia call), he just made judgment calls that were bound to piss one side off. I think both calls were justified as called but could have gone the other way.
Holland didn't lose because of the ref. They lost because they couldn't finish some great chances.

Two one on one chances in one game is insane. Robben should have converted.

quote:Yes, Van Bommel's challenge was bad, but he at least made some contact with the ball. There was SOME effort to play the ball, which Puyol didn't do at all.

But that misses the point. It's that this storyline emerging that the Dutch just thugged it up while Spain was more talented and played this beautiful, attacking football is a gross distortion. Spain played a pretty defensive, plodding style all tournament, and they weren't shy about committing some aggressive fouls.

Not really. For the entire first half, all Holland basically did was foul and foul some more. It got better as the game went on, I'll agree to that, but they played reckless and dirty.
I agree Puyol's foul was worse in that sense, but anyone that bitches about the officiating as hampering the Dutch needs to GTFO. If anything, they should've been a man down for the enitre last 2/3 or more of the game.
The other issue is most were bitching using the "You can't call it like that in a WC Final" with the non-given red card. Well, if that's the case, how can you call a weak at best foul in the last 10 minutes of OT?
At least I am consistent.
