Spain name provisional Olympic squad

This is a 22-man provisional squad. Expect one goalkeeper and probably the three Euro 2012 players to be dropped to get to 18. But maybe not. Javi Martinez didn't see much time.
Also, if I'm doing my math right, there are four players over age (not born on or after 1 January 1989). Those would be Koke, Juan Mata, Adrián López and Javi Martinez (who misses only by three months). I'd guess Mata ends up getting the rest.
GOALKEEPERS: David de Gea (Manchester United), Diego Mariño (Villarreal), Joel (Atlético Madrid)
DEFENDERS: Mikel San José (Athletic Bilbao), Martín Montoya (Barcelona), Jordi Alba (Barcelona), Álvaro Domínguez (Borussia Mönchengladbach), César Azpilicueta (Marseille), Iñigo Martínez (Real Sociedad), Alberto Botía (Sporting Gijón)
MIDFIELDERS: Ander Herrera (Athletic Bilbao), Javi Martínez (Athletic Bilbao)*, Koke (Atlético Madrid)*, Thiago Alcántara (Barcelona), Cristian Tello (Barcelona), Oriol Romeu (Chelsea), Juan Mata (Chelsea)*, Isco (Málaga)
FORWARDS: Iker Muniain (Athletic Bilbao), Adrián López (Atlético Madrid)*, Rodrigo Moreno (Benfica), Álvaro Vázquez (Espanyol)

Even if you take out Joel, Jordi Alba, Mata and another (maybe leaving Javi Martinez), this team is sick.

that team would probably beat the full USMNT.

Jordi Alba shouldn't have to play. The guy just played 540 minutes in a world-class tournament. Give the guy some time off. Martinez and Mata might like the opportunity though.

At least one of Spain's teams could then...

I actually think a Bradley coached team may have given us a better chance against a team like Spain.
But Jurgen's team would come out, and at the very least, try and take the game to them.

I'm starting to question your fanhood. Seems like a lot of top end with no real connection.

Here, let me explain:
NCAA: Auburn (I go there, parents went there, have lived here a good portion of my life) and UNC (Grandfather loves Duke, my dad started pulling for UNC to spite him. I inherited that love for UNC basketball. Been to the Dean Dome.
Great venue.)
Soccer: Man U (liked them since I was a kid), Seattle (attracted to their crowds and Fredy Montero)
MLB (I'm a casual fan of baseball): Diamondbacks (love Phoenix)
NBA: Golden State (please tell me how this is top end)
NFL, NHL, WNBA, Major League Lacrosse: No team

In regards to the actual thread:
This U-23 team would be Top 15 in the world rankings. Dizzying talent.

Mexico released their squad a while back. I don't care enough to post it. But there are some decent players.
