Somebody explain to me why Bedoya starts over Mix or Zusi?

Bedoya doesn't seem "bad", but does he make any signigicant plays for us or more than Mix or Zusi?

Well, for one, Mix doesn't play out wide.
2) Bedoya is the more athletic player when it comes to him and Zusi.

Bedoya was a hero the other night.
Mix is good, but he's not an elite player. Neither is Bedoya but he's tough, experienced, and fits
better on this type of team.

Bedoya is going to play as hard as possible and play defense the entire time he's on the field.

Except on set pieces, where he was laughably bad.
I don't think Zusi, Davis, Mix or Green would last more than a half trying to cover the ground Bedoya did at the speed he did it on Monday, though.

He's our only speed on the wings, period. He's a fricking workhorse who constantly gets stuck in, and he sends in a pretty good ball.
I thought he was really good vs. Ghana.

Bedoya is so underrated on this board it's ridiculous. He get back on defense to help cover ground when Fabian pushed up and he makes pretty intelligent runs (i.e. the first goal against Nigeria). He's also more confident on the ball than Zusi.
Zusi's good at crosses and set pieces and that's about it. Albeit, two very important aspects of the game but that's sub material for when we need a late goal (
) and when Bedoya's on empty.

I think Zusi's better on the ball overall. Better touch, better passer, better crosser. It's not a huge difference (except for maybe crossing), but he's the more skilled player.
Bedoya is more athletic though, a workhorse like somebody else said, and is a pretty skilled player as well.

Zusi has great positional awareness, is extremely hard-working and can pick a pass pretty well.
There's a lot of overlap between his skillset and Mix's, IMO.

And Mix just seems to be one of those guys who flourishes coming off the bench. He can give a nice burst of energy late in the game. I have no problem with them keeping in the subs.
