We won't be playing in qualifying.

so what will the USA (and Mexico & Canada) be doing while the rest of CONCACAF is trying to get a spot in the World Cup?

just a bunch of friendlies against teams that won't qualify from their continent?

I'd like a good challenge heading into the World Cup

Hopefully a Copa America invite, but yeah, other than that... friendlies.

For all of the shite Gregg gets, he had a great game plan today and international soccer is fricky. Teams have poor chemistry so these things happen. Plus England is never as good or as bad as English media tell you they are

Mostly this. Although I would say this is one of England’s more talented teams in recent memory. Gregg actually came through with a great gameplan and honestly, our midfield started outplaying theirs after the 21-22nd minute of the match and it stayed that way for most of the rest of the game. By 2026, if Reyna, MMA stay healthy, get good minutes at their clubs and improve, we’ll have a world class midfield that no one can say they have better. Adams, McKennie and Musah dominated today. Now just imagine if Gregg had played a false 9 with Reyna with them and playing off them + Pulisic/Weah

That and Pulisic played better and that’s what helped create a lot of chances.

Impossible to tell. 4 years is an eternity in soccer years but but we should be much improved. We'll have to improve at center back and center forward. If we find guys who are real guys at those spots, we can make a deep run in America.

This. We desperately need a few things to happen, though to make a deep run.

1. Pulisic to get the hell out of Chelsea and play regular minutes at a good club that will play him

2. McKennie, Musah, Reyna, Adams all to stay healthy and keep doing what they’re doing.

3. Chris Richards to develop and be the CB of the future.

4. Pepi/Sargentto continue to develop and at least give us average or slightly above average production up top. Someone has to step up there. Sargent is finally finding a groove at club level so hopefully four more years of that and he can be the guy. If we had a guy like Kane in 2026…I’d dare say we’d be the favorite to win if guys like Pulisic, Reyna, Dest and MMA keep improving

1. is to pick a manager who can improve our play on the field while also keeping off the field/training pitch vibes that Gregg has brought to the program.

Making the right choice on that will go a long way in building towards 2026.

I would throw Haji in there too. He's only 24 now, but I think he will get another chance in the Bundesliga or France or Italy after this season. But really, we are supposed to have some studs coming through the academies within the next 3-4 years, so who knows.

Yeah this might be my new number 1. We need someone more adaptable to what our roster will likely compose of in 2026. And that means getting Reyna and MMA all on the pitch at the same damn time because if Pulisic can’t regain his former pace and find playing time in the PL or another good club, those will be our four most important players moving forward

In soccer the "better team" often doesn't win.

Idk about this.

As in I don’t think we are getting a new World Cup winner.

And in the leagues, the best team rarely loses. Like City.

Out of those 3, hopefully Pepi develops.
I still think Dike has the most potential. He's raw, didn't come up through top academies, most physical presence, shown flashes of brilliance. If he can stay healthy and catch the eye of a better club while at West Brom, he can turn into the 9 we need in 2026.

If Dike shakes off the injury bug that got him the last year, he’s the future.
