I think the program, from the fans all the way up to Sunil, are so hungry for validation and to be accepted in world football that we ignore the fact that potential is very little more than an optimistic outlook on the future. Instead, we assume that these people should be ready now. It probably also doesn't help that we look at these prospects the way we look at college athletes. It just leads to a lot of bitterness when they turn out to be average.

Yeah, I agree with you about the hype of these young players when few really turn out to be more than "ok" professional players.
It does create a situation where everyone has to blame either the player or manager or his club for the failure of such a "sure thing".
Analogous to the pressure following a club paying €25m instead of €1m for a young player.

he's ok, but if this guys watched any MLS he should know better. Or he could ask Bruce Arena or Robbie Keane
