completely agree. After they canned hughes a lot of the media and some of the players were up in arms about it, but buying robinho, santa cruz, wayne bridge, et al is still hurting us. On top of that the guy was regularly losing and drawing to bottom of the table teams.

If they got Pellegrini, then I hope they give him time. His teams are awesome to watch. Open, attacking, fluid sides that play entertaining football. Hell, last year's Man City team was a pretty entertaining side.

Yeah, I'm not quite as critical of Mancini as some here. It almost seems as if Mancini's desire to open up the attack more actually backfired.
At any rate, that things were kind of at a lull for City and player relations/general atmosphere may be a big part of that makes their desire to move on to another manager understandable.
Agree that Pellegrini with the type attacking talent they have and can bring in will be interesting to see. I absolutely loved watching his Villarreal sides.
I was probably even more impressed though by Pellegrini's ability to change tactics and milk such good results from that Malaga side this year starting so many cast offs.
I do wonder if Pellegrini is pretty much a done deal that precipitated Mancini's firing or if City may have to worry about other clubs pitching a offer?
Also curious to see where Mancini will end up.

the more this point is emphasized, the more justifiable the firing becomes.
I think that's where the answer is. It's not so much of what happened on the pitch.
