how do you even know if that was the first formal bid or not?
Formality is irrelevant......it only becomes relevant at the end.

perez is upset because he did not get his way. he's used to getting his way. especially when it comes to man utd.
Still remains to be seen whether he will get what he wanted ultimately or not.....people in Madrid may not like it but I think the best case scenario for Madrid was for De Gea to play, and play well, at ManU this year in his final contract year.....not negotiate a new ManU contract....then move to Madrid on a free next year.
This allows Navas to show us what he can do this year and potentially drive up his transfer price....and we get De Gea for free.

we never will know the real story.
This is really the only thing we know for sure.
I know that is not what Perez, Rafa, or the Bernabeu fans wanted.....but personally I like that route.
Still undetermined if we get there....but I think that scenario has a better chance of happening that De Gea re-signing with ManU.

Yeah, I mean, formality is everything. Without a formal offer, there is no bid. Which makes the statement true.
Discussions are just a piss in the wind.

@TrueRedDevils: Perez on if MUFC bid €100m for Bale: "No. It is not true. We just know that United expressed their interest in Bale, Benzema and Varane."
Perez agrees.

So I trust Perez about the same as I trust the ManU brass FWIW.
I mean shite this guy fired Carlo Ancelotti after he won the UCL and finished 3rd in the UCL the next year and 2nd in La Liga.
Then he hired Rafa Benitez.
Yea I trust that guy
