I agree that they'll take time to gel as a team and probably wouldn't consider them in the top 6 or so favorites. However, Champion's League can be so uneven as far as draws that it's tough to predict.
There's a possibility of their group looking like this:
Real Madrid
Man City
Juventus
PSG
Or this:
Porto
Shaktar
PSG
Copenhagen
With a good draw, they could possibly make a run to the semis in which another team with a lot of new faces like AC Milan, Arsenal or Chelsea in the quarters would be their only huge hurdle.
Or, they could could get a draw where I think 2 or 3 teams in their group are better.
Criticism of Zlatan against top teams may be valid, but he's an absolute terror against everyone else.

This could never happen. Seeding prevents it. Real and Man City would certainly be tier 1 teams, and possibly Juventus. PSG will probably be tier 2.
