The latest development regarding Dani Alves's move to PSG is the fact that the Brazilian's agent has been spotted house-hunting in Paris.

Dinorah Santana, Alves's representative and former wife, has been in the French capital over the last couple of days. Following a string of meetings with PSG - she signed a contract with the Ligue 1 champions weeks ago, on Tuesday 10th March - she now seems to have turned her attention to planning for her client's life at his next club.

Barça had intended to make the most of the international break to meet with Santana and submit an offer of a new one-year contract worth €6 million before tax. However, when they heard the reports from Radio MARCA about the full-back's deal with their upcoming Champions League quarter-final opponents, they got angry and backed out.

As our sister radio station revealed back on 11th March, Alves is set to spend the next three seasons at the Parc des Princes, pocketing a basic salary of €9m a year before tax plus up to €2m in bonuses.

Below, the most expensive XI in the world by position (in millions of Euros):

Do fullbacks as whole make less than center halfs? Or are the PSG pair just inflated?

CBs are better paid and go for larger transfer fees than fullbacks in general.

So Thiago Silva makes double the money the next highest defender in the world makes? He's really good but that's pretty crazy.

There is a reason. Have you seen the French tax code? Eats the hell out of the wallet.

The fact that its a French team paying him that crazy amount doesn't hold true when the second highest paid CB is also on that same team. You could say they're both over paid but it doesn't account for the huge gap.

you do realize teams in europe get around that with bonuses for targets met

their bonus money is take free thats why lots of players get inventive based deals.
