I don't feel like reading 9 pages. I just heard the news and came here to post exactly this.

quote:

I feel like this is actually a pro-WC prep move for Bradley. He is tired of getting jerked around for playing time and wants to play consistently in the build up to Brazil. Now he can come join Camp Cupcake, play 90 every match for Toronto and be in top shape/form for Brazil.

Next winter, he can look to move back to Europe and battle for a spot with a strong club.

So arguably the best American player coming back to MLS, doesn't grow MLS? How is that?

I thought better talent and HOMEGROWN MURICAN talent would help. Silly me

How does it help grow the game in America?

He would get more exposure playing overseas than he will playing for TFC.

Because people like to see an American succeed. Right here in America.

Plus the MLS product is better with Bradley. Whether you like it or not

apparently he's making 800k euros at Roma and Toronto was offering like $6.5 mil

Well in that case who can really blame him and I don't think anyone else in Europe would have paid him that much. If anyone here wouldn't take that deal they are fools.

Do they?

People were pretty excited when Deuce was tearing the EPL up with Fulham.

I'm sure most would rather see them succeed at the highest level possible.

Never said it wasn't, but it comes at the expense of sacrificing his growth as a player.

like i said safety net. Im sure he would have gone back to germany making a few million euros or england bringing in some pounds. Some times you have to take the money and run.

I would rather see an American soccer "hero" if you would, in person than on tv.

Plus him joining paves the way for others. Which in time, improves the product and grows the game

exactly being in the MLS long term for him is not good

playing against young kids, MLS journey men and over the hill players from europe wont make him better

I would venture to guess that you are in the minority.

That's like saying I only hope the US wins the World Cup in the US.

I'm speaking in future terms. I'm not sure. Buts it's a lot easier for someone to make the decision to come home when others before you have

Well the World Cup is played in one country only. There are leagues in every county.

So that statement makes nonsense.

If the American players keep improving esp on the technical side to the point we dont have to cap ever guy playing in europe. Those euro clubs will shell out even more money and the MLS wont be able to compete.

I can't wait to go watch MB at Sporting Park this year.

nah. IMO it's like saying that I would rather the US win the 2014 World Cup in the US rather than in the Maracana, a football cathedral.

Unless they want to take a slight paycut to stay home. If the league has grown into a competitor.

This are all what ifs. No one knows for sure. I just want the league to get to the point where it's a possibility

That was kind of the point just to show you how nonsensical your theory was.

The point I was trying to make is thar slowly but surely, MLS is showing that it is likely that one can earn a comfortable living playing a a professional soccer player IN THIS COUNTRY and on the horizon, there is a good possiblity that you can become rich playing professional soccer in this country.

Why is this so hard to comprehend?
