United has the most debt, but they are one of a few teams in the world that actually make a profit. The debt comes from the money used to finance the Glazers' takeover. We're just whittling away at that debt, bit by bit.

How did Fulham accumulate all of their debt?

Al Fayed has some loans that account for all that debt. Supposedly though he pays no interest and the debt is held by a friend or something along those lines.

ETA: the loan might be from al Fayed to fulham and they pay no interest and he has promised not to call it in. He invested a ton of money to allow them to rise from league 2 to the epl.

I am certain that it is zero interest bearing debt though. I believe Villa is the same thing with the deb being owed to our owner Randy Lerner

Wolves should have used that 26 million Euro on competent players.

It seems that is the case with most of these clubs that the debt is held by the owner. Should be converted into equity IMO not sure why they wouldn't.

This table is from 10/11...I don't think we eliminated most of the debt left over from the previous owners until this year.
