quote:Wondo would have gotten dominated by Ghana's physicality same way Dempsey and Bacon did. We need Jozy to hold the ball up and let guys run off of him, which is why we had trouble maintaining possession
Wynalda says Aron not good enough, need to play Wondo.

Overnight him some horse placenta and he'll be 100% for Portugal.
Serious answer: ESPN just had a doctor on and said Grade 1 means he'll be questionable for Portugal. Grade 2 he could be done for the rest of the group stage (2-4 weeks)

I like Aron's ability to close down the opposition. We'll probably be without the ball for the majority of the tournament, and the ability to close down space for 90 minutes is going to be extremely important.

I really think Bacon can do some damage against Portugal's makeshift backline on Sunday.

Ghana was not a good match up for Johannsson, I think Portugal may be though. I hope Jurgen gives him a start up top with Deuce in behind.

Why can't we speculate? Really dude, what is the harm in speculating about it on a message board. Don't participate if you don't want to.
I mean, to waste time? Sure.
We'll probably find out the truth tomorrow any way.

If Aron struggled against Ghana's CBs, then I have no doubt he'll struggle against Bruno Alves.

I watched Bruno Alves a bunch this year. He is good for 2 really dumb decisions a game. However, he is certainly more physically imposing than any of the Ghanan defenders.
That being said, other than Meireles, the Portuguese midfielders are not going to harass him like the guys from Ghana.
