And yet MC was the first place he went a whole season without silverware.

What Pep is doing this year is impressive. But I would hope he could win the league when City has spent £400 million pounds in the last two years. His system is great when he implements it, but I'd love to see him do more with less. He's significantly outspent Chelsea and United the last two years, and that's saying something.

LOL

He's had such a hard life, being handed keys to a rolls Royce, Porsche, and a yugo loaded with Sheik money.

Net Spend in 17-18

United - 152.9 mil

City - 154.95 mil

Net Spend in 16-17

United - 138 mil

City - 177 mil

Source: Transfermarkt

Pep inherited an aging squad, it wasn't like what he inherited at Bayern or Barca. He was always going to have to spend money to integrate some youth into the squad.

Chelsea have like a combined net spend of around like 15 mil over the last two years

Oh, I'm not saying City's squad didn't have huge problems. It needed an overhaul. I'm just saying Pep got all the backing he could have ever dreamed of and landed just about everybody he wanted. If he's an all-time great manager, I would hope he can achieve stellar results when he gets almost the exact squad he wants with money almost being no object of concern.

What he has done is undeniably impressive. Winning this many games in a row is impressive even if you're playing with an all-time squad. I just prefer watching what managers do when things don't go their way (Conte last year).

Net spent is pointless unless you need to balance the books, which City doesn’t.

He sold a bunch of dead weight but has still significantly out spent Chelsea and United

We didn't even sell most of the deadweight, almost all of them left on frees

United have spent plenty of cash and so have Chelsea.

United just haven't had a lot of guys perform at a high level and Chelsea are rebounding from a season without European football. It's the same situation we were in when we had pretty much only a first team squad with a below-average bench. The depth isn't there.

Spurs have twice as many losses as the amount of points City have dropped this season.
