At least there is a decider. It's a lot like the NFL though, except that they actually have a solution in how to find a winner when there is no score in extra time. But there's no way anyone can justify these guys playing any longer than the extra 30 minutes.
The only resolution I can think of, is to allow an extra 2 subs per 15 minutes of play.

I personally would prefer either the old MLS shoot-out, one on one with the keeper -OR- a corner kick/free kick placement contest, where all 22 men are still on the field.
Have 8 spots in an arc (approx corner distance away) around the goal where you can pick to have a free kick from. All 22 guys on. Goal must come in immediate action - no resetting it (or have a clock).

I would go the other way. No extra period after 90 minutes. Next goal wins. Allow substitutions. Remove one player from each side after each five minutes. By the time you get to 30 minutes there would only be five attackers/defenders on each side. Scoring would be almost assured.

I used to hate them completely, but then I read Soccernomics, and the chapter on penalty kicks gave me a new perspective.
