All credit today... he provided a great difference off the bench with an assist and goal...

I'm happy for him!!

I went from happy to pissed to ecstatic in the span of about 4 minutes

That game was nuts. I know it's just Norwich but after the first 50 minutes it was looking pretty bleak so you know..

My GF took my ipad away but holy jesus what a game.

And say what you want about me front running earlier, ive been behind Lallana the whole time!

TFTC... You keep saying that about goals and assists. What about Coutinho? I know he was only 8mm but his numbers are hardly stellar on a consistent basis.

Lallana is going to be key in this system. Mark my words. He's all class, I've said it all along. Just needs to be healthy and get into a system that supports his style. He scored and assisted a shite ton of goals at Southampton, thats why we paid 25mm. He just hasn't been deployed correctly most of his career here. Ibe needs to take a seat, he's been bad Sterling the last 8 months.

One of my favorite players when utilized correctly.

He's like an Adele, whinehouse, sam smith of soccer except englang/brazil. A "Blue Eyed Soul" if you will..

Not to be a dick but what is with the whole saying "he offers width"

Does me standing out wide with a shite end product and hardly ever beating my man mean I "offer width"?

I never really understood that saying, why deploy Ibe to offer width when we're playing a false 9 and not Benteke? Doesn't make sense to me tactically at all.. I guess that was really our only option at the time but still..

We need to build our spine up. A diamond with Firmino, Sturridge, Lallana and Coutinho could be sex. But then again, may as well consider Sturridge Jimmy Hoffa.

Really glad they showed some fight.

Lot's of work to do but the effort is there, at least in the 2nd half it was.

Damn, that Naismith goal, 3 players just sitting and watching. Terrible.

well, you need width in a side and you can get it two ways... from wingers or fullbacks... its not just a tactic for whipping in crosses...

I'm not saying Ibe is ready to start week in and week out... far from it... Again, given our squad I think Lallana is probably one of the best eleven.. but I think we need better..

I still think Coutinho is the better player, but has not progressed as much as I had hoped the past two seasons... but still offers more than Lallana (in my eyes) and is younger... Lallana is 27 and should be close to, if not, the finished talent..

Again, one of my biggest issues is often times he kills off momentum and play with way too many touches... like I said earlier, credit where it's due... he played well today and brought a lot of energy in late in the game.. it was needed.. I hope he gives us more of that... he hasn't the past season and a half..

edit: I also said before the season, I'd be okay with selling coutinho if the price was right...

I'll add he did put up better numbers at SOTON, where he was the main man... and that may have led to the habits he's formed... I dunno, just a guess...

He isn't that at LFC... maybe he found his role as an impact sub, he made a great case for it today

edit: I was happy to get him, though I know we over paid... Ive just been disappointed... nothing else I can say...

I hope you're right that he comes good and becomes a standout...

Width equals more space. More space equals less clusterfrick and more room to pick out passes, make runs, and not allow 1 person to cover 3 people. Width is important for a side that can't one touch pass you to death like Barcelona or Arsenal

As much as I love Bob... that was a concern in the summer... we seem to be stock piling #10 types and no true wide players... even the shakthar kid has been playing a more central role, but has played out wide..

Guys I know what it means. It was somewhat rhetorical.

I'm saying when your "width" is a dead end option, it isn't width at all. Especially when we have Moreno and Clyne who are supposed to be attacking full backs.

I was simply pointing out it is one of those overstated commentary terms that a Verne or Gary would use if calling soccer.

Glad to win today. We REALLY need to shake up this squad though.

I disagree. I think it was back in 2012 or something like that we had a lot of success with Henderson as a central AM for a stretch of games. It wasn't because he created a lot of chances or scored goals, but he made runs that opened space for Suarez and everyone else to work.

I agree Ibe can be frustratingly predictable with the ball, but at least he attracts defenders and when we're extremely short of attacking players for now, I'd prefer him than trying to force both Milner and Henderson as our "wide" options

Good God what s game, who saw that one coming?! And to follow the script here I think you boys get what you want this summer. I am of the opinion that we will not recognize a lot of our players by the start of next season.

man... how Dele Alli is not in a red shirt is beyond me... I thought it was all a formality that we were going to sign him... what a fantastic young player!

Smith needs to start ahead of Moreno. Can and Lucas need to sit as well. I'd rather see the young guys start than Can and Lucas standing around watching guys dribble right past them. They can't be any worse.
