And IMO, that's why you don't sell Studge... he may spend a lot of time out, but he's fricking lethal when he plays...

Sadly, I think Rodgers did a decent job of accumulating the talent to replace a Sturridge if he does hit the bench for injuries, but sadly he did not bring out the best of that talent like Klopp has.

I think Rodgers realized he needed someone to fill (or compete with DS) for the first team striker role... He (committee?) also did a decent job bringing in a young striker (Origi) and an upgrade over Lambert for a "squad" striker with Ings..

The big question mark is Benteke... given Rodgers style of play... and now that Klopp is here, it's even more frustrating. Don't get me wrong, I like Benteke and think he can do a job (and is a #1 striker in the right system), but I just feel if Klopp was here in the summer, that 32.5mm would have been spent on someone else..

IMO, BR wasn't necessarily trying to build our squad in line with his philosophy, as much as he was just trying to save his job with that buy..

I agree with this, seeing as Teke has been a 2nd half sub in most of Klopps matches, even after Ings has been on the shelf with injury. But he has also been quite effective as a sub and in set pieces. I like him a lot, I just didnt really like his price tag.

I'm not sure we'll ever get that price tag of value out of him, but I think he will continue to be effective as a super-sub. As well as an answer against the bunker teams that we struggled so mightily with last season and earlier this year. Definitely agree the purchase was one of desperation from Brendan and not a tactical one.

So..... Subotic. I would LOVE this move. He's Kloppo's boy, he's fallen out of favor with the current BVB boss, and at the very least provides cover for Martin Skrtel.

We probably get him on the cheap as well.

While I think he's an improvement on what we have, he's been out of form for the last few seasons. Given the right price he could be a great buy, but there's no denying he's a slight risk given his performances over the past year or so.

I tend to agree... I'm skeptical about Subotic since his knee injury...

For that price, I think we should be going after a clear, first choice RCB... For about the same money, apparently Howedes is available from Schalke...

I'd love to see him and Sakho in a partnership...

The amount of penises I would suck for Howedes isn't even quantifiable.

Yeah, I went there.

Multiple cock sucking offers from BPG for a RCB. I believe that would be The Klopp Effect!??

SIAP, but apparently hendo has an incurable foot injury. He'll have to play through the pain for the remainder of his career

Damn it, you are right. Plantar fasciitis. He could be out for very random stretches of games for the rest of his career.

I'm a little late to the game, new to the forum. Not ready to suck a bunch of penises though. I come from the Scout forums. Lots more banter here. Looking forward to it. Now let's kick some magpie arse on Sunday lads!

It sounds like Hendo will have to deal with this thing forever. We don't know how it will affect him yet, with the depth we are building with Klopp we should be able to adequately rest him.

Plantar fasciitis is something he'll have to manage but he won't always have pain. He may have some stretches where it's bothering him more. He might need to sit and rest. He could tear it and put him out for a month and not bother him again. It's not so much that he'll always play with pain but there's just a little bit of uncertainty of when and how bad it will bother him. Not the end of the world

Wasn't trying to be sensationalist. I was half asleep typing that.

Basically you are right Zaba. It just depends on what scale he is having pain, and the duration of it. I have a buddy who deals with that, and there are times he plays sports every day of the week and there are times where he is in a walking boot to relieve pressure for a couple of months.
