Dude and his agent gambled big time to drive up wage demands because they know we are desperate to get him. Hope for all our sake that it isn't serious. Doesn't help you guys, doesn't help us, and sure as hell doesn't help borini.

And for the record, name wise, it's pronounced Emre Chan and Jordan Eye-b. I did not know that.

I've heard way more people pronounce it Gan (soft G - J sound) than Chan.

Things that made me happy yesterday -
Cou - played well and really showed his knack for a quick move to provide space and allow him to send a good pass. I think if our squad had any pace to it yesterday he would have set up some nice chances because he put himself into space and looked up quite a few times.
Lambert - nothing special, but I liked his movement, touch, and got off a good quick shot. We will need pace on the field when he's on, but I think he will integrate well.
Can - actually mixed feelings about him but I think he showed a bit of a physical prescence that we will need. Passed pretty well overall.
I won't go into too many negatives since it's difficult with a friendly and I don't want to read too much into it.

Although Coutinho made some bad passes, I liked how aggressive he is. Very good skills and is a natural shooter, just needs to refine himself a bit. The decisions to pass where he wanted to were good decisions (for the most part), they just rarely made it to the intended target. Almost like he was getting too excited or something.

Glad to hear they will play a part in Chicago... fly out tomorrow morning!
Coutinho was the best player on the pitch, for either team, by a distance IMO... If he ever adds more goals to his game, he will be one of the worlds best...
Can's energy reminded me of Henderson and Allen, which is a plus... Strong too! I'd really love to see BR develop him in one position and not as a utility player... looks like B2B or possibly DM is his role..
Lambert's touch and passing ability are evident and for £4mm, I think he will be a bargain to spell Studge and for cup games... I wouldn't want to rely on him game in and game out...
Also, I though Coates played well while he was in there... I sometimes forget that he's here and maybe BR has decided he doesn't fit his plans, but I think he'll be a solid CB for years, somewhere... I think he'd excel in Serie A..

Coutinho was fantastic. So calm and fluid with the ball at his feet. I think he's poised for a great year! I might have to pick up a yellow #10 shirt this fall.

I think the biggest positive was the pressing. They looked good with the organization and aggressiveness, though I know Roma's fitness and the pitch probably played a little part in some of the sloppy passing

I just read that Remy is taking a €20,000/week pay cut to join us.

Yeah I was really impressed with Can and I can see him molding into a really good defensive midfielder. I've been really impressed with all the signings and I'm not even butthurt about not signing a huge name bc I love all the guys we've brought in. Now we just need lovern

Lovren, Origi, and a left back please.
I'm assuming Remy is a done deal.

As far as a "big money" signing (that May or may not be completely realistic) which would you guys prefer, reus or Vidal?
