Outside of one really bad mistake I actually didn't think we looked terrible, could have been better of course, but not bad...

The 2nd half has been much better already, and now we're ahead

Matip-Lovren-Klavan ALL on the pitch.

Can't clear a goddam set piece on a throw-in.

I really thought this was going to be a 3-1 win. Jesus, it is so disappointing but we just are not there yet.

Balls. Utter shambles at the back. How can we not defend with 5 at the back against what is arguably a minnow of a team?

I felt the same way, when that fricking ball went into the net on a GD throw in I wondered why the hell I was surprised.

Yesterday was a great chance to push an advantage over City and ManU for the top four. (and hopefully the top 3 so we don't have to do summer qualifiers).

Frankly, we $#!t the bed.

Clearly something wasn't right with Cou, he was making faces all game, including after his goal indicating some discomfort. I have no problem with his coming off.

What I'm not sure about it going to a back 3/5 at the time - we didn't seem to have the same control in midfield or in possession after the change, and let them try to pick at our weak defense. We are terrible at any type of second ball/ricochet, etc. I feel like half our goals are because of our inability to deal with a ball in a place we didn't expect it.

Didn't get a chance to watch yesterday and after seeing the result, lost my desire to watch the recording...

Its prob an over simplification, but two lapses in concentration cost us 2 pts...

when you score 5 against Bournemouth in 2 matches, you expect a lot more than 1 pt...

I was disappointed with Klavan. He was brought in to provide cover when one of Lovren, Matip or Sakho (frick) were out, and he just doesn't have the pace to keep up with any forwards in the PL. I think Lucas is faster than him. I know positional awareness can make up for a lack of speed, but he just doesn't have it.

That was a real opportunity to push forward and we blew it. Thankfully we maintained pace with the teams behind us, but it was a real blown chance.

We need Hendo back so bad.

If you think about it, he was brought in to be the 4th/5th CB (behind Matip, Sakho, Lovren, and possibly Gomez). As such, he's an experienced player that would be great as that 4th/5th.

Personally, to me he's been better than I thought - his problem has been consistency, and one of the bigger issues being playing multiple games in a row in quick succession. I think he's serviceable once a week or less. And he comes into the side (when he hasn't played in a few weeks) in form (which you want in a back-up CB).

Long story short - good squad guy who has played more than he should have due to Sakho and injuries, and also looks worse when having to play multiple games in the same week.

He also plays exclusively on the left and has to deal with the acres of space Milner leaves behind him.

When something like that happens the way it did with Couts and you see him head directly to the locker room that way after leaving the field, that always screams to me "digestive system issues".

Football being one of the very few sports that does NOT give you the opportunity to take care of those kinds of things if matters become extremis.

And, of course, now comes the dreaded "Coutinho is still ill and hasn't trained all week and is questionable for Stoke."

frick this gay earth.

We made this bed by fiddle farting around in the transfer windows when we could've added depth, time to lie in it. I just really hope the wheels don't fall off. We're so close to champions league.

I'm going to be pissed if we don't make the UCL. Not only will it be shitty for the team, but also I'll have to admit that it is someone else's turn to start the season long thread next season. I don't want to be a failure on my first try.

Rise up is right. I just hope it's time we start acting like a Top 10 club in the world which is what every damn survey says regarding stature and price tag. You wouldn't know it though with us selling off all of our best players and worrying about a price tag frick up in the January window when we have zero depth. I have also heard the rumblings about the "big money summer" but I'm not holding my breath. If we don't make the Top 4 this is going to be a massive disappointment. I will say that I agree with Carra and feel we are around 6th place in the league looking at our squad top to bottom which tells me Klopp is doing a great job with our talent. The issue is we need to step it the hell up in regards to building our squad.

I'd post today's lineup but I'm not sure it's even real. Front three average age 19.

Regardless of today's result, if we don't make top 4 the blame will lie squarely at klopps feet for not strengthening the squad in January.

NBC studio show saying young Ben Woodburn is starting with Origi, so it looks like the frontline will be Firmino-Origi-Woodburn.

They didn't address whether Coutinho has been ruled out or will be available from the bench.
