They do need another team they can fail to support.

Always a classic. Never gets old.

Y'all need to be prepared...Atlanta is getting a club. So is Miami. Deal with it.

No one is angry about it, boss. It's just common knowledge that Atlanta is the worst sports city relative to population size this side of the Sierra range. That's all.

Nope. If New Orleans somehow got a MLS franchise, boom. Natural rival for Atlanta. More soccer in the South.

I just think it's highly unlikely. But, then again, I'm not fully aware of the soccer scene in Louisiana. It might be a situation where there are enough diehards and Hondurans to make it work.

It would just be really shocking considering that New Orleans hasn't even been rumored for a NASL or USL franchise.

So no one's crashing any party. I've always thought Atlanta was the best Southeastern market for a MLS expansion team, even with its terrible support for other teams that aren't making the playoffs every year.

I've always laughed at the thought that New Orleans would be a better choice for MLS than Atlanta. That's it.

FWIW, I've done the same for Atlanta. I don;t think either city could support an MLS team.

I think it's bigger than people realize. Baton Rouge and New Orleans have VERY healthy adult recreational leagues, and BR, Mandeville, Lafayette and New Orleans have large youth programs.

Now, whether the "distant" cities would travel 1-2 hours for games, I'm not certain (but I believe they wouldn't.) Maybe on the weekends they would....

However, if MLS is expanding to 24 teams.... Houston, Atlanta, Dallas and New Orleans makes for a tidy little four team division. Adding San Antonio and a Florida team fits nicely in a six team division.

Freddy Adu, minus the stepovers.

(Run as little as possible and make nice passes - no defense.)

I'd make for a mean Brek Shea. I suck, but put me in late and I'll inexplicably net a late winner.

I think it would be great if a USL/NASL team was in NO. Not sure about MLS though.

Would you guys that are saying you would buy season tickets still do so if it was a team in USL/NASL? Just curious
