Need help: Looking for team to root for

Just getting into soccer and looking for a European team to follow. I know I don't like Manchester United they feel like the Yankees to me and I hate the Yankees. Was thinking maybe Tottenham or maybe Manchester City. Anyone got any advice or would like to steer me in a different direction or maybe even a different league ? All advice appreciated !

When you have a few teams you are interested in start reading up on the history...

1. Check out stuff on Wikipedia, you'll learn a lot about the teams and their histories.
2. Watch a couple games first and see if theres a team you naturally pull for

Watch the teams where Americans are playing, in as many leagues as you have on TV.
Cheer for the Americans to do well. You can do this without having to understand the intricacies of the game.
You'll eventually latch on to one of their teams, or one of their opponents.
It was watching Brian McBride, Carlos Bocanegra and Kasey Keller at Fulham that led me to choose Chelsea.
If you need help with Americans in Europe, we could probably give you a list.

That bill Simmons article was pretty good thanks for that. I'm really leaning with Tottenham. I'm watching Chelsea rite now kinda digging them. So many choices

Just watch a lot of soccer and root for the team you enjoy watching. There are lots of ways to do it though.
