Matthew Doyle ?@MLSAnalyst The #USMNT are winless in their last 6 official games against teams ranked in the FIFA top 100. Longest streak since rankings began in 1992.

EDIT: Adding another one.

Most recent US win over a top 100 opponent: 1-0 vs. mighty Haiti, ranked #79 at the time in last summer's Gold Cup. US outshot 15-5 that day

Settled teams play better

quote:

the single most settled team in Europe on this list is Napoli, who are second in Serie A and come in at 88.2 percent.

quote:

It probably won't surprise anyone that Leicester City had the most settled team in the Premier League (and ranked second across the top sides in the Big Five).

This is my biggest issue. The constant "experimentation"
He can't control players actual performance, and I don't know what all the practices, team discussions, philosophies, strategies, meeting in private are. I don't know what he ask players to do versus what they actuly do. So I won't critizise it(or try not to)
But I do know what the line up is, and it does affect play. This is the one thing I can for sure point to as having a negative impact on the play. An I think he needs to settle down, I know there have been things he can't control that caused some of these lineup changes but 28 in a row for just the back row.

Id also think lineup consistency would be more crucial on the international stage where practice time and game experience is so sparse.

It amazes me that the fans realize this but the guy getting paid 2 mil a year to coach the team does not.

Sheeeeet, I'm such a diehard USMNT fan, I would still pay to be disappointed in person. But good luck getting the casual fan to sign up for that.

ETA: Holy shite, I just remembered that this is in Columbus. Ok, that looks pretty bad.

quote:

Declining crowds have been the norm for the U.S. over the last year. They drew just 29,308 for a friendly agsinst Brazil in September, a high profile clash that has drawn double when they've played before. Worse, only 9,214 showed up to see the Americans play Costa Rica in friendly last October, with many in attendance cheering for the Ticos.

That's really bad. I wonder how much is apathy and how much is disgust/protest.

Columbus is rock solid as far as USMNT attendance goes, but 7k short? That is going to be one empty looking stadium due to the yellow seats.

Edit: I'm going with apathy as the problem.
