This was the reply I got from the MLS about not having the games on TV.

Our national TV partners are interested in airing playoff matches (both are on national TV on Thursday and the rest of the playoffs). But our ratings during the regular season are significantly lower than the other leagues that also have games tonight.
NBCSN is showing its NHL game of the week, ESPN has college football and NBA games tonight. The networks can't bump those games for ours, yet. As the league grows this will become less of an issue.
