There's a difference between directing a ball towards goal and trying to control a ball with three guys around you.

it's about knowing your surroundings and where your goal or teammate is in close quarters.
you have to have quick reaction times...kick with either foot, no stutter steps before shot, know where ball will go without looking up...ONE TOUCH...we practiced this all the time....if you can't shot with one touch then pass immediately and already know where your teammate will be.
like this, chest high pass, if you look he already knows that all his teammates are covered(he's looking at them before ball arrives"...he instantly knows, tap to space, shoot (one time)
frick it's tough to see in GIF, but as soon as ball gets floated to him, he quickly looks forward, then looks back to ball, traps to space and fires.
again, all this is to say, YOU DON'T PUT PEOPLE IN POSITIONS THAT THEY ARE NOT SUITED.
Bradley is past his prime and should remain in a Defense only role....he has ZERO offensive skill, save a leg for set shots or random deflection opportunities.

Sorry MB is not Thomas Meuller. If that is our expectations of him on the offensive end, we will almost always be disappointed.
Yes MB could do it. and prbly would do it 8/10 times (or whatever). It was unfortunate that it didnt happen. That is it.
To call MB out for this an mistakes like this is weird to me because Wondo had as big of a disaster than all of MB put together. Jones had regressed in the Belgium game and had a lot of pour touches throughout the Cup. Dempsey had struggles throughout the cup. nose related or not. Cameron missed a ball. 3 cbs didnt defend properly on that CR7 cross. We as a team lost our shape and let CR7 get wide open without a midfielder sagging on him. We pushed too far forward at that point as well. Gonzalez got beat. Bessler fell down. Zusi didn't even play a game except one cross.
But this list could go on forever. Why are we singling out MB?

MB knows this better than the rest of us on the board. Plus, when was the last time you played soccer? this is much more easily said than done. even for pros.

I think he was very well suited for the role he played. We wanted a player in CAM that could help defensively as after Jozy went down and when we had 3 of the top teams in the world to play, all of which had a very good midfield. We wanted a player who would track back and help cover these players especially opponents defensive mids as the teams all had threats in that position. We wanted a player who could play longballs to dempsey alone up top and switch the field to a streaking wingback. As we no longer had a guy to hold up play. We had to change strategies so MB played more long balls to try to get a 1v1 and switches to add people to attack. Possession would have been tough and it would have been very hard to move forward playing a more tiki taka style.
Blame JK on the tactics I guess but to blame MB for not being a more offensive threat when it was just dempsey up top and 10 players defending.

Seriously, I'm wondering who meets his criteria of being an acceptable player at this point. I guess he's going to think half of the players in this Brazil-Germany match are garbage too.
ETA: Guess Oscar is shite for that bad touch with his chest when he was through on goal.

khedira is slow...i love that dude and wondered why he was on the bench the first few games for germany
he has touch and knowledge of the game....no speed, not aggressive, but because he is aware of his surroundings he creates for his teammates.
and he makes less than Bradley FWIW

Because only the US would ever have slow people in the center right?... Khedira is why we need Yedlin!
There is a huge nonsoccer reason for this. And this was one obviously one example of why he was not rejected by Europe or whatever you said about MB earlier.

your CM has to be able to create.
khedira can pass to make opps...bradley can not
Yedlin suggestion was because he could actually take it in himself(speed/control)....forcing defs to stop double teaming Clint....like a Point guard penetrating and dishing off, allowing someone who can not make space for them self, space and opp to shoot.
Bradley doesn't pass offensively well, doesn't create for others, can not create himself, defenders do not respect him.....he should have had NO Part of the offense...plain/simple

Yedlin has the first touch of a baby giraffe.
I disagree. He is doing a lot better than the brazilians up to this point. Maybe this game is exactly why we needed someone like bradley all along. Maybe we knew we would be fricked if we tried to push players forward. lets play defense and counter attacks since we don't have Jozy. MB is a great counter attack type player. Plays good longballs over the top. Sees the field to allow switches. hussles his arse off so will make the runs with and without the ball to push forward. and will get back to play D.

Khedira is fairly aggressive. He presses high up the field. He's the prototype number 6 you want. He can run all day. He can tackle. But he definitely isn't a creator. He's a great player though. He usually sits next to a passer and provides outlets for moving the ball out of defense.

The more I see you post the less convinced I am that you played or watch soccer currently.
He wasn't involved in the play and if he did get called for offside, its not like this play is uncommon.
