I saw quite a few of the guys buttoned all the way to the top in the last game vs Turkey. It was definitely odd

Are they saying we have had disappointing performances in the world cup? I roundly disagree with that statement if that is in fact what they meant. We've never won but we've made it out of our group in half of the last 6 and made the deep run in '02. Disappointing to me would be not making it out of the group like once in the past 24 years.

The American mentality is win it all or nothing, unfortunately. With our lack of soccer fans in the States in addition to the WC being every 4 years, they don't see the progression.
I bet they measure the USWNT by World Cup performances though....
