It's hard to make a direct comparison because of the difference in sports, but Messi's performance for Barcelona from 2015 onwards after Xavi left should be regarded as one of the greatest performances by any sportsmen ever. He essentially played 3 positions at once.

Messi should be regarded as the best dribbler of the last 15 years, the best playmaker of the last 10, and 1a or 1b in terms of the best finisher of all-time. Messi could have scored no goals from 2015 onward and his playmaking abilities would still make him the best in the world. It's insane what that midget can do.

Yep, this has to be a troll.

Jordan is the basketball GOAT but to legit question what Messi has done to make him a bigger GOAT? Surely you are joking. Surely.

Forget being a better goat than Jordan, here are some of his accomplishments off the top of my head:

7 Ballon D'Ors
11 domestic league titles or so
7 domestic cups
4 Champions League Titles
6 European Golden Balls
1 World Cup Golden Ball (May be 2 on Sunday)

1 Copa America (Argentina's first major trophy in 25 or so years)

About to play for his 2nd final (Higuain and Ricky Palacios already blew one for him with their trash arse finishing)

This isn't diminishing Jordan, this is showing why I think Messi is a better GOAT

That first touch passing was incredible there before Messi of all people fricked it up

So because I don't agree, it must be a troll Interesting. I could easily say you claiming a guy that has yet to win a World Cup being the greatest of the greats is a troll as well.

One of the problems with soccer v all sport comparisons is in European club soccer you have a lot of chances to win stuff

League titles, cups
Champions League
Individual scoring honors
Copa America
World Cup
Olympics (obviously the lowest)

Edit - see he made my point for me

Are you legitimately comparing a World Cup to an NBA Championship?

Where does Croatia go from here? They have a lot of talent aging out and aren’t a very big country.

I’m not sure there is a single accomplishment in sports in the level of winning a WC

Right back to hoping and praying. I think they are done for a long time.

A runner up and a possible 3rd or 4th for that country might as well be 2 World Cups tho.
