There was another year where someone other than Ronaldo or Messi should have won it. I believe it was Ribery in 2012/13. Lewa probably should have won it in 2016/17 too. There are probably a few more players who had insane form during that time period too but were let down by their teammates. So I agree that Lewa should have won at least one in the last five years, but disagree that there are ten players better than Messi right now. Sorry for being harsh.

Ok , can someone explain Jorginho to me? 3rd in the world? I can think of 3 or more more players on his team, Liverpool, and City who I would say are better than him, much less the entire world.

I’ve thought the Ballon D’Or was a joke ever since they gave it to Ronaldo over Ribery in 2013.
