Not sure if someone got hurt, but good for Hedges, he is our defender of the future.
Also, the MLS MVP Trophy has been named after LD

I mean c'mon man, yeah he wasn't the european superstar, but he holds every meaningful scoring and assist record in America for club and country
.

That 58 assists to 31 players is pretty insane to me. Since only 10 recorded multiple, he's got 17 "unaccounted for" assists to be spread as the 3rd or higher assist to any of those 10 players. That's pretty crazy.
But back on topic, there has to be a reason Hedges wasn't in from the start. There was an issue with the club or his health...or Jurgen didn't check his official list twice when he sent it out. I don't know, but this seems pre-meditated.

His numbers playing for the US were nuts. It still makes me sick that he wasn't on that team in Brazil. Holy shite, what a bonehead move by Jurgen.
Anyway.. I think it was great that he stuck around MLS for all those years, but it's a shame he didn't spend a little more time in Europe. After the Germany thing didn't work out, it was good for him to come home and figure it out. I wish he would have made a permanent move back to Europe a few years earlier than the 2 Everton stints where he lit it up. I would have liked to see what kind of numbers he could have put up playing in a standard European season during his peak years. His style of play was perfect for the Premier League. He could play any one of the front 3 attacking midfield positions when it seemed like every team in the league was doing the 4-2-3-1 thing.

By that standard, you should basically hate almost every American player ever.

You can take the "almost" out of that sentence.

Landycakes is a whiny little count. Sure he has some gaudy stats and all, but he had no heart. He knew he could get away with it because we Americans love our sacred cows no matter what. He could have done so much more if he wasn't so pampered. He quits when the going gets tough. See Ghana WC 2010. His attitude after the Algeria game pissed me off. It was like mission accomplished for him. There I said it.

If he would have been on the squad for WC 2014, USMNT would not have made it out of the group. His leadership sucks. USMNT was screwed either way.
