Beautiful scenes as Elliott is stretchered off and clapping to the entire stadium who are applauding him, and the away section sings YNWA.

Not sure how you’re supposed to keep playing after that

Yeah at least live it didn't look like he went into the tackle trying to injure Harvey. But I have no interest in rewatching that to actually see what happened

Injuries happen, even bad ones. It's easier to keep playing after that then witnessing something like what happened to Erickson

I’m not squeamish. Watched it again a few times. He definitely did not mean to do that. Trailing leg caught Elliott’s back leg which seemed to get stuck in the turf under his Struijk’s knee. Once that happened, all the pressure was going sideways on Elliott’s lower leg. Very unfortunate.

Truth.

Still though, I am sick to my stomach at what happened. Both for Harvey and from just seeing his leg and Salah’s reaction.

There’s a still photo on one of the foreign LFC FB pages of Salah there with Elliott, hand on the boy’s head motioning/yelling for help, and Elliott with his leg in a somewhat normal position, screaming at the top of his lungs toward the trainers.

fricking horrific.

I mean can you really be shocked at that red card?

ETA: I have not seen the replay obviously, but I can see why the official goes for a red card there seeing it live.

A reaction to the injury and not the actual play. But this game is over anyway

Mané seriously gonna finish this match with 0 goals when he could’ve had like 4

Not the case. The ruling came from VAR according to the broadcasters.

ETA: You may be right. Broadcasters literally just corrected themselves and said it WAS an on-field decision. Whether by Pauson or one of the assistants, I don’t know.

Salah - world class finisher
Jota - world class finisher
Mane - can't hit the side of a barn

I mean at this point I kind of feel bad for him. Something has to at least deflect in eventually
