Well one is a non contact sportsmanship issue, the other is denial of a goal. Kind of a big difference.

I could agree that it shouldn't have been a penalty if he hadn't thrown his arm forward. If it just went off his thigh and into his arm, then I'd say play on. But once he threw his arm forward to help keep the ball out, it has to be a penalty and a red for DOGSO.

How should it not be a red? Because it hit his thigh first? His arm made him bigger and the ball was 1000% going in, it's a red all day every day.

Yeah I hate the rule there because j don’t think there was much he could do, but by the rules it is the correct sequence.

Had his arm stayed where it was - then I agree. But he swung his arm forward knocking the ball off the goal line. It's a clear red.

I am pretty high and drinking but I feel like chelsea are very fortunate to not be down. I thought Liverpool looked much more threatening in the 1H, just couldn’t dial in a final pass.
