Basically what the FA, and all governing bodies, should do is flip the script in a situation like this.
Nothing can be done about the ref blowing it during the match but if a clear blatant dive results in a red card for an opposing player the diver should be handed the red card ban while the defender's should be rescinded. It's too logical and too much common sense for soccer though.

Goddamn I hate Gerrard.
That was pretty cool though. Liverpool keeps on winning because they work so well as a team, and they have fun doing it.

Well, Vidic was stupid enough to go to ground on that challenge, coming no where close to the ball...
Luis would have dragged his foot and made sure there was contact...
I'm guessing Daniel was anticipating the contact and guessed wrong...

I mean shite, two penalties weren't enough? At least in a 0-0 game it makes sense he would be desparate enough to try something like that.

You can't count one earned on a blatant dive and you would have gotten the other call if you hadn't cheated for the previous one.

I'm not embarrassing myself, I would imagine that's exactly what he was thinking when Vidic slid in... All strikers would be anticipating some kind of contact there when a defender dives in like that...

You could justify the PK if you judge that Vidic attempted to trip or kick Sturride. It was a late slide.

Vidic is just passed it and too slow... I don't see how they let him still wear the captains armband when he's leaving for Inter... At this point, I wouldn't even play him... Let Jones and Smalling (or whoever their partnership is) develop some continuity. They have nothing to play for really...

look man, first two penalties were deserved. should have called the last one where carrick got sturridge, as well. vidic tackle on sturridge was not a trip, or an attempt to trip. it was a tackle and a dive.
not like that penalty decided the game. our god awfulness and liverpool's great form and excellent managing (along with quality players) is why we were thoroughly dominated.
