Should also point out that Hart was poor at both goals.
Especially the 2nd goal from Suarez. The 1st goal from Suarez was just great movement from him and a great pass from Cavani. Suarez could have went near post or far post and would have scored. Not much Hart, or any GK, could have done IMO.
But the 2nd one, he was indecisive. He looked like he was going to close on Suarez, then kinda stopped, and then Suarez ripped it. It almost went through Hart... right above his shoulder. Didnt even react.
Thought he could have done better on the 2nd goal, but there wasnt much he could have done on the 1st goal.

Hey, I'm all about the UK and Republic of Ireland (and they all rock) but Switzerland is absolutely the best country in Europe. The safety, the wealth, the scenery, etc trumps all. Just investigate how difficult it is to emigrate there, as I have, and you will see how well their standard of living is under lock and key (wish we would take note).

Did anyone look at England's manager and squad and think this team had a real chance? They should be beating a team like Uruguay but it's not at all surprising they didn't. Uruguay were hard to breakdown, and England either do not have that creative player who can unlock the defense, or they refuse to play him from the beginning.

England were fine, they were a couple of blown Rooney chances and a donkey header from Gerrard away from winning and really Rooney should have easily equalized against Italy too.
Terry is what this team is really missing though and a player to play where they are trying to force Gerrard.

Uruguay should have been 4 up by the 50th minute.

The tactics were just all wrong for me. The XI was woefully unbalanced.
It was essentially a 4-2-4 with Gerrard at the base of a 2-man midfield. That shite isn't going to work. His mind and body are too far gone for that much responsibility.
They should have gone 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2 in my opinion. Give them more balance in the midfield, free up Gerrard to play his game, and pair Rooney/Sturridge or play 2 dedicated wide players with Sturridge up top.

The funny thing, IMO, is Roy attempting to be tactically flexible by abandoning his tactical impulses, and starting 4 attackers. I just don't get it. Starting Rooney, Sturridge and Welbeck is essentially starting 3 players who each consider themselves a 9.

I do agree in a sense.
4-3-2-1 with Gerrard, Henderson, Wilshere in the midfield. Rooney at the 10, and Sturridge and Sterling up top. That team is fairly balanced and would excel on the break.

lol, the only good chance they didn't score on was Cavani's horrid shot (of course)

If OX his healthy and Theo makes the trip this team would be totally different
