It's been a while since Chelsea did well in Europe. Atletico and Juventus would be good calls. I don't really consider Zidane's Madrid to be a low-block team, as their game was possession-oriented, not transition or counter-attacking oriented.

Nah I just have a ton of brain-farts. I also want it to be the era of the high-press.

Kroos and Modric is as low block as it can get at times

Yeah Madrid were low block as shite in the Final as well last year.

Obviously they may not play that way every match, but I have last year’s final saved on my computer and they are on the back foot absorbing the entire first half.

Yeah maybe. When I think of low-block, I think 10 behind the ball, with counter-attack as their main attacking M.O. Seems like they more possession than a traditional low-block team.

Yeah you are right about that game. They were definitely in the low-block.

Spurs need to bring Les Ferdinand and Gary Lineker off of the bench.

I'm not sure the high press will ever have it's "era," but it is without a doubt the most effective tactical system out right now. It should be the next natural progression in tactics accounting for the tremendous improvements in fitness, technical ability, and pace that has come with the modern game. The difficult part is not finding players who possess those skills, it's finding a manager who can make the superstars buy-in and keep them engaged for longer than a season at a time (it's clear managers like Conte and Mourinho can make this happen for brief spells, the longevity is the tough part).
