God damn these last two days have been some of the most entertaining days of the sport. God damnit. I had tons of shite to do yesterday and today and I spent it all fricking around.

At least the worlds best player will be on display tomorrow in the city and real match.
Fernandinho is due for a goal.

Just got finished watching.
First of all... what a fricking match. Holy shite, that was incredible.
Second of all, I think that Atleti goal was offside. But... whatever, you can't have as many chances over two legs that Bayern did and not finish and expect to move on in the Champions League. Oblack was incredible and Lewandowski was kind of shitty today.
Positive note, that was the most passion I've seen Bayern play with since Jupp left, that was really fun to see. I missed watching that team.
Arturo Vidal man of the match, only argument is Oblack.
Adios, Pep. Benvenuto, Carlo.

Demichelis
It's funny because Demichelis actually did play in more than 150 matches for Bayern.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
What passion today...it's a shame they lost it in the first leg, and the Müller absence will be to blame.
Such a fun match to watch. Let's lock up the league Saturday and win the Pokal.

I admit that I'm a noob, but what a shitty way to break a tie. One team advances because they scored an away goal?
How anticlimactic! As a new fan of the sport with building enthusiasm, that took some air out of the ballon.
That said, can't wait for the other semi tomorrow.

is my math wrong or is pep leaving a team that failed to win a CL title, after they won it the previous year, and inheriting a team that will likely go farther the year prior to his arrival than the version with him at the helm in the foreseeable future?

This system and PKs and even having draws hurts the expansion in the U.S. to be sure.
But hang in there and as you get used to it, it becomes normal. Nobody in Europe is complaining about it I am guessing because it is what they know.

Agree. I'm fine with PKs. At least it's something.
Away goals just bother me. I would rather extra time or even PKs over that.
I get the reasoning behind it but it feels like such a cheap way to pick a winner.

I'm probably in the minority, but I like away goals more than PKs. PK endings just feel random. I think that away goal wins feel more earned, but I also think home field is such an advantage in soccer that scoring in the away leg should be rewarded.

I have no problem with the away goals rule.

I also am okay with away goals rule with one exception: I feel once it goes to extra time away goals should be disregarded. No reason one team should have 30 extra minutes to get an away goal and I think it supersedes the home advantage.

I really think the current rules are as fair as we can get. The home team gets 30 extra minutes to score and penalty kicks in a favorable environment, and we give the away team a possible reward in exchange for putting them in that disadvantaged situation.
This is much more satisfying to me than 90 minutes of play then straight to penalties.
Edit: Does any team/fan ever want to play home first then away in the second leg? Cause I always want the second leg to be a home fixture. I think that in itself shows the inherent advantage of being the home side in the second leg.

I know I want to be home in leg 2 every time... Just see our QF against Dortmund.
