Herrera's first was a weak yellow

I completely disagree. He completely cuts off his progress after Hazard makes a move and beats his original man. He knew exactly what he was doing.

Of course you would. Your only skin in this is you're a city fan. What was he supposed to do....didn't have time to move

My problem with it is if Oliver gave an ultimatum to Smalling, then he had to yellow card Herrera to keep the respect. He could have handled the situation way better, as I don't think the sum of Herrera's fouls deserved a red. Oliver backed himself into a corner and acted like an overeager schoolmaster rather than a referee. That said Herrera knew he was on a yellow and went in late from a position he couldn't possibly win the ball. It was only to stop the progress of the play. Herrera shouldn't have been in that situation anyway.

I agree 100%. I understand it and know refs have to keep authority over a game. I just didn't like it and think maybe cooler heads should've prevailed to preserve the tie. Herrera fouled so fast, not even sure Smalling had the chance to communicate to the other players what Oliver said

More than anything, I just hated we missed out on what was shaping up to be an entertaining game. Based on what I had seen, I think United were prob going to lose. The red card changes the narrative though.

You can't be serious. Had hazard not just been fouled on a play where a card should have been given I'd agree it shouldn't have been another yellow. But he got hacked twice in 10 seconds and the second offender was on a yellow. At the very least you must admit that was a very stupid challenge considering the timing by Herrera
