It's not that Klopp is having trouble with a "tough league" it's that his players are average and the skill level of the teams he's playing against are fairly equal. Klopp got exposed in the Bundesliga when his talent diminished as well. He was unstoppable with the squad he built exactly in his image. He was painfully average when those players left.

He's going to have to get players to match his style and Liverpool's squad is mostly a shite salad, so it will probably take him a while to be very successful, if it happens at all.

exactly... though I have no doubts he'll get more out of these players than BR would have...

1. Leiciester
6. Palace
7. Watford
Bournemouth ahead of Chelsea. This has been a great year.

Klopp needs to raid the Germany for his rebuild.

Some really good, and bright young players in Germany. And there are a few good keepers you could get, that won't cost you no where near $40 mil.

He needs skilled players who are going to bust arse for 90 minutes. Kagawa, Gundogan, Lewandowski were not household names. Hummels was a "Bayern reject" and he really hasn't been good since Klopp left, Sahin never reached the BVB levels when he left the club. Reus was a big signing.

Klopp's issue is how loyal he is. Weidenfeller was kind of shitty the last year Klopp was there but he never lost his job. I'm not 100% convinced he's going to be able to recreate that BVB magic that he had but you're going to have to at least give him a summer transfer window.

true, but there are no guarantees Migs wouldn't have done something equally as stupid.

I actually like Butland and would take him in a minute.. but for a fraction of the price they want, you can go to Germany and pick 3-4 keepers of equal or better quality...

It will be tough, but we couldn't have asked for a better manager given the shape we're in...

if FSG back him financially the way they did BR, I think we'll be okay

Every Premier League team needs to be trying to build their squad with only English players that come through their youth academy and filling in the rest with foreign players. The amount of money teams waste on English players is staggering. I know it takes a while to fix an academy but that needs to be the goal. I couldn't justify the money they're throwing around for average English players.

Not only that, but average "premier league proven" players like Lovren and Benteke (in our case).. We've had some very lazy scouting the last few years...

I'm hoping Klopp looks to the value to be had in Germany...

And speaking of Watford, looks like Juan Manuel Iturbe is headed there. He posted a goodbye to Roma fans.

Daniel Didavi, Haris Seferovic, Admir Mehmedi, Jonas Hector, Yunus Malli

All good players who could all be had for probably 15 mil or less.

Leroy Sane, Timo Werner, Mahmoud Dahoud would cost a bit more but they're all young and super talented.

There are many options in the Bundesliga that would fit in with Klopp and you could get 2 or 3 of them for what it would cost for one average English players.

Henderson

U are correct about building through the academy, but we live in a "NOW" society. No one wants to wait, even if they know it will end up helping their team, they want to spend and get instant success.

The EPL money is also a blame, you can go out and get a decent Foreign player for 4-8 mil, where as any English player is costing you 2-3X that. And isn't half the player.

Before, when cash wasn't there, you had to develop the players. Now you can buy, and bring in 18-19 year olds to finish their development.

there probably are another 10-15 names you didnt mention that would help them immediately and are in the 19-21 age area. And while they will cost money, they won't break the bank.

And then add in the young keepers they have that are quality.
