That's just what someone on ESPN FC said a few hours ago. I guess there were a ton of no shows.

What do the Mexican fans shout when the opposing team takes a free kick? I assume they're shouting some profanity perhaps, since the Spanish language broadcasts always mute the sound just as the kick is being taken.

Thanks. This had bugged me for the longest. Thought I was going crazy with that "mute" on every free kick.

0-0 draw. A bit of a disappointment.

Spain V Italy

Entertaining friendly.

Kind of similar to the last few Italy Spain match-ups where Spain do a great job winning the ball back quickly and keeping Italy pinned back for long stretches but only create a few good chances themselves while Italy occasionally gets a good chance off the counter when they break the deep pressure.

Silva was amazing for Spain. Thiago was very good as well. Iniesta's brilliance kind of goes without mentioning.

Costa didn't fit Spain's tactics very well at all to my eye and I'm sure Azpilicueta and Albi wanted to kill him for how often he gave the ball away cheaply and forced them to sprint back 60 meters to stop the resulting counter.

Both Jordi Alba and Dominico Criscito were repeatedly abused off the dribble by Pedro and Alessio Cerci to create most of the best chances of the match.

From Italy's pov, it's probably a bit frustrating to not get a goal but there were some borderline / first time NT call ups that looked to be solid depth options for the WC squad like Cerci and CB Paletta.

Judging by the starting 11 and subs, forming the roster after the starters seemed Prandelli's main objective.
