Shouldn't a U-21 team have guys 21 and under?

I think you can have 2 or 3 guys over 21. Theo Walcott played 2 games for the U-21 side when he first got back from injury.

3 players not including the keeper

It could be the highest salaried U-21 lineup to ever step onto a pitch.

I understand the rules just fine, it seems a little desperate though wouldn't you say?

no bc its used to help players come back from injury or stay sharp other clubs do it too
United's youth teams have been good for years
these above age guys wont be playing when the tournament starts

Falcao and Rafael didn't play yesterday, no reason to have them doing nothing.

I think the first team guys would probably stay sharper playing against their own teammates in practice. I think LvG is afraid of the Hotspur U-21 team
Of course it is to keep them sharp and focused on football, but it still seems a little desperate

You're right, really need that morale boost from beating the freaking Tottenham U-21 team. Desperation time.

This is pretty common. The lineup isn't that strange to me considering United's situation.

So good you needed a first team player to draw level.
LvG is afraid of Spurs!
Red fairies are going to get rekt this weekend!
