You are in denial if you think McFred arent the two starting midfielders to start the season. We're screwed

So you think we've signed a world class creative player to back up Scott McTominay? logical perhaps

He plays as an attacking midfielder. Do you think he’s going to start over Fernandes? Because there is not a chance in hell we could defend with Fred, Erikson, and Fernandes in a 433.

He’s said a box to box is more important than a true DM

Which is exactly my point Erikson isn’t a box to box nor holding midfielder he’s great on the attack but doesn’t help us to have another cam on the field along with Bruno.

All I’ve said is that I have a very difficult time seeing Scott McTominay keep Eriksen out of the team. I can see Scott coming on late to see out games that we are winning.

Eriksen can do more than play as a 10, did you watch Brentford last season?

All of it is conjecture anyway, you don’t have any clue of how we’ll set up and how effective it will be. Neither do I but I’m optimistic, Eriksen is class

I like what Erikson has to offer but Ten Hag runs the 4-3-3 and we literally have no one but McFred to play in the two deeper midfield spots. Its a crime that United haven't signed a single midfielder the past two years. Ten Hag relies heavily on press/pressure and Bruno+Eriksen can't give us that unfortunately.

He's ran a 4231 double pivot as a base setup pretty much all preseason, have a look.

Switched to a 433 once against villa.

The 4231 has no room for eriksen as a starter as well with Rashford - Bruno - Sancho in the Cam roles would you want Erikson playing in one of the deeper mids behind that?

Guess we'll see, I just think he'll play a lot at the expense of everyone not named Bruno and we'll be in the 4231. I don't see Eriksen pigeonholed at CAM but I see where you might.

About to lose out on FDJ to Chelsea.

What a shitshow of a transfer window.

He still as now doesn’t want to leave

Fred is said to play the connector role in ten Hag's 4-2-3-1 system and Eriksen will play a more box-to-box role where he will create, develop, and distribute all over the pitch. See Brentford last year.

Fred will be supported by the two inverted wing backs as we move the ball to mid pitch, deal with pressure and break counterattacks. The two center backs will reinforce the middle behind them with Maguire and Martinez having complementary skill sets.

Eriksen will allow Bruno to roam and do what he does best naturally.

Chelsea smoke feels like propaganda tbh
Tuchel just said today that midfield isn’t top priority.

There have been several English media outlets that have stated if he were to leave Barcelona, he'd prefer Chelsea because they offer Champions League and are located in London.

There were also reports yesterday that Barcelona are unable to register their new signings they've brought in €667m with their "financial levers" but Javier Tebas and La Liga didn't count €150m of that because they were "capital gains."

Because of that they have work to do if they want to register their new signings. Barcelona have told De Jong to either take a massive pay cut, or leave. The way this has all gone, I'd expect him to take a massive pay cut and stay with Barca because he's already acted like a complete idiot this whole window anyway. "I want to stay in Barcelona because I just bought a new house." Even though Barcelona deferred 17m in my wages and now want to cut my wages in half so I won't ever receive the deferred salary.

But if he doesn't take the pay cut and Barca do force him out, it looks like he surely won't be picking United.

I won't pretend to know anything about international football finance regulation but this fiasco has been interesting to say the least.

Can Barcelona not pay him the value if his contract just like that if he holds firm?

No if they want to terminate his contract it has to be paid in full or they reach an agreement

They just can’t release him

If they don’t pay him his wages they will get taken to court

Those pricks still can’t even register their signings. I hope they collapse under this greed and stupidity.

As for FDJ, not gonna grovel for a Barca castaway with no PL exp. Esp one that doesn’t want to come, kill this transfer saga with fire already.

Regardless of the De Jong bullshite, what the hell has John Murtough been doing for the last month since the Martinez deal was agreed? Just sitting around waiting on De Jong?

They could've picked up a cheap option in midfield like Fabian Ruiz for £21m.

They could've been pushing Brandon Williams and Aaron Wan Bissaka out the door and worked to bring in Dumfries or Dest at right back.

"We still have interest in Antony, but only if Ajax lower their valuation on the player." -Ajax raises the asking price by 20m

"We have a difference in valuation on Darwin Nunez by about 30m." -Liverpool pays it and had him playing in their whole preseason tour.

Well we're talking to the agent of 19 year old Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko. -I want to stay in Salzburg and take the Haaland route, maybe next year United.

Well, maybe we'll try to get a deal over the line for Cody Gakpo or even enquire about Leroy Sane. But if neither of those work out we'll bring in 33 year old Marko Arnautovic.

"We just have to see what's going to happen with De Jong first..."
