Still don’t see how this is going to work for them
It’s a “different” ownership than PSG but the funds are still from the same central location
If Red Bull can get away with it, they will be able to. UEFA has already given them the green light, and apparently they put in a $5B bid. It's looking like they will be the likely winners unless someone offers more.

It’s an apples to oranges comparison with Red Bull
And $5 billion is not £5 billion
still a chunk of change missing
Nothing is happening regardless
Initial bids are due today

The Glazers are taking the highest bid and I have a feeling this will be it. Also its not exactly the same group as the PSG owners but I'm sure the money is all coming from the same place. How is it not like red bull? Salzburg and Leipzig have both competed in the same uefa competitions multiple times.
I know you have made it clear you are against all things Qatar but this bid carries zero debt, and Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani who is the chairman has stated that all profit will be reinvested into the community and redevelopment of Old Trafford.

It’s literally another state owned investment they want
With a different name as the leader of it
It’s all same money

This isn’t about making money for them
It’s about one upping the UAE and Saudis
It’s about changing the public image of Qatar and using sport to do it
It’s about political influence

And how is that a problem for Manchester United as a club? It's not.
There is political influence no matter who the owner of the club are due to sponsors. For example look at what happened to Ozil at Arsenal he protested for Chinese Muslims and the Kroenke Sports group caved to chinese investors and sponsors and removed him from the squad. There is no perfect world in sports ownership.

You can’t be serious

I’m very serious. Lay out exactly how it is a huge problem to have Qatari owners.

Being a state owned vessel has a ton of issues
The only difference that will be between United and City/PSG is we won’t have to self sponsor
That’s why the Saudis picked Newcastle
Sir Jim officially submitted his bid
His shouldn’t have any hiccups and will get blessed by the UK government quickly

Except it’s ultimately not up to solely the UK gov you know damn well the Glazers are taking the highest bidders.

Eghhh
It has to be blessed by the Government
Would rather have a Manc owning the club than anyone else
We get it
You want everything fixed now and new now
But the long term effects of being owned by a country could bit us in the arse
Being part of the dick measuring contest among Arabs is stupid

It’s not about everything fixed and new per say I just don’t want Manchester United to be hand cuffed by poor finances and management anymore. Sure Jim could be great I’m just not a fan of purchasing the club with borrowed money. I know he has good intentions but investors want capital back in return and he will have to use United profits for that. He isn’t going to use his personal funds. I could totally be proven wrong it’s just somewhat of a red flag to me.

Neither owner has to user their personal funds to do anything
The club is 100% self sufficient
What we need it the debt gone, which both bids would do

Jim will be buying the club with borrowed money so yes he will owe money to investors for the purchase, he is not going to pay back that money with his personal funds he will use United profits more than likely. What’s there not to understand. It could be an issue.

He can’t siphon money out the club like the Glazers did
Any purchase has to clear the serviceable debt the Glazers gave us
He will owe to investors, the club won’t owe anything
He also has a proven track record in sports
The club being 100% self sufficient will finally be able to operate to its full capacity
Do you not understand that?
You really willing to sell out to Arab money huh?

I don’t really prefer one group over the other I just know Qataris have a plan and the assets to do it. If another group comes along with that type of pull then sure I’m all for it. But by all means keep jumping to conclusions on your moral high ground.
It’s literally impossible for a club of United size to operate and compete being “self sufficient”

Seriously how long have you supported United
The club has been self sufficient for so long lenders where willing to agree to let the Glazers put the debt on the club and not themselves bc they knew it would still make money.
Do you think the money to purchase players was coming from the Glazers?
Glazers not paying off the debt was the issue

Which is why they are having to sell the club? Because that model doesn’t work anymore. You’re answering your own questions.
Oh btw I went to my first game at Old Trafford in April 2003 4-0 vs Liverpool. Ruud had a penalty brace.

I get it, but I don’t like it. Unfortunately this is the way being competitive in the top 6-8 slots of the league are. City have had the unlimited funds for years, Newcastle just turning the tap on, Chelsea spending $600M+ in the last 18 months or so.
I don’t like it, it feels like it won’t mean as much if we just buy anyone and everyone. But I’d rather be competitive, than stick to raising academy kids and finishing 7-10th. Gotta adapt to stay at the top.

What?
The club is still making a profit with zero money put in from the owners
They just rather keep the profit, instead of reinvesting it or paying off the debt
Both bids said they would not do that

You say that but even the Qataris said they will focus on youth
