I just want to take a moment to appreciate the awesomeness that is KDB. £60M flop. Can't hack it at Chelsea. Overpaying. Alllllll the bullshite. He comes back from serious injury and drags the team into form. Unreal.

I can't think of a better signing in the world last summer.

City FTW! We're obviously drawing Bayern haha.

Y'all see the shite SCH was talking the entire match thread? He just couldn't believe his eyes.

I never watched KdB in Germany, but everytime I watched him for Belgium he was amazing and consistently out performed Hazard. In retrospect, we got a bargain by paying less than 60m for him. He's been the best player on the team. When he went into that slump mid year the team felt it. When he got injured the team wasnt the same. Until Aguero can finish again, this team will only go as far as KdB can take them this year.

"history"
Class of '92
"bored of his pet project"
"what about that academy"

That's about all he has. I understand. ManU suck royal arse and their last 2 "TACTICAL GENIUSES" have failed. We're top dog in Manchester as of right now.

When Hazard is in form and gives a frick he's amazing, there's no denying that. He was amazing last season. He seems to be a bit of a diva though. That's one thing you can't knock this management for. Outside of Yaya, we seem to cut ties with anyone that screws the locker room chemistry. Even then, Yaya seems to be pretty popular among the squad...he just pisses off upper management.

KDB will be up there with the likes of Kun, Silva, and Yaya in terms of "best post-takeover buys" by the time this current squad's legacy is set.

I didn't want to complain about anything yesterday because it was completely awesome, but Yaya pisses me off so much. He came on for 10 minutes and still couldn't be asked to even look like he cared about defending. He still relied on everyone else who had been playing 80min to do all the running.

His attitude is so beyond pathetic. KdB was still running like a maniac before he went out only for Yaya to start strolling around the pitch like it was his Tuesday afternoon jog. If he can't even come on as a sub and work hard, then he can't be on this team next season.

here was my post in the game thread when i saw him taking off his warm ups and it looked like he was coming on:

quote:

uh oh, yaya must have been getting tired on the bench. coming on the field to take a nap.

it was true, as usual. he's checked out. he'll still have a brilliant moment or two before seasons end, but he's checked out.

I'd LOVE to see his tracking numbers after a game.

Time: 90 Minutes
Calories burned: 120
Distance: 0.7

I saw it then and completely agreed. I just don't understand why he picks moments like this to be a lazy (whatever).

Yaya's tracking actually shows he runs a lot. The problem isn't that he doesn't move, it's that he moves behind where any possible threat would be. There's absolutely no urgency about his play when defending. And I understand some of that when he has to play a full 75+min at his age, but with only 10min to play in the most important game of the season I expect a little more than a slow trot.

I was willing to let him stay around next season as a rotation player after his past few performances, but after last night it's obvious that he just needs to be moved on in anyway possible.

I've believed for awhile that Yaya is the team's real captain regardless of who has the armband. The teams play is a direct reflection of Yaya. Inconsistent. Sometimes brilliant, but often can't be asked to do even the basic elements of the game. That's the City we've watched the past few years, and that's Yaya as well.

Getting a new backbone in the midfield can only help this team's consistency of play in my opinion.

Yup. Generally his total movement is high, but it just isn't efficient.

In his defense, he's like Reuben Randle. He doesn't show much emotion and even when he IS busting his arse (I'll admit, it is rare) he makes it look effortless. He has one facial expression the entire match and he looks half asleep with his mouth open.

I'm still holding out hope, but after his agent spewed off his line of bullshite again I can't help but think he's done. MAYBE Pep can convince him to take a lesser role at a club with high hopes going into next season but I don't see it.

Would love it but I'm not holding my breath. There has been a ton of smoke around Gundogan and Laporte. IF we get those two then I want another winger and at least one young left/right back.

Kolarov out. Gaya if we buy. Denayer could be an option. I think it is a need but I think we can squeeze one more year of the current players. Sagna has played better than expected since he got here. Zaba has been ok this season. Kolarov is shite. Clichy has been quietly good.

Demichelis out. Mangala maybe but I think he gets at least one year. Denayer comes back. Laporte is a strong rumor. Stones has popped up but I think Laporte is more likely. Plus Stones would be expensive due to being in the league already and the English tax. I have no doubt we sign a CB this year. Otamendi, Mangala, Denayer, and Kompany. Kompany can't stay fit and we will definitely need 4 options at all times if we want to win some serious silverware.

Yaya out. Fernando maybe? Gundogan would have me giddy. I would shite if we got Pogba but I don't see it happening. I do think Pep tries though.

Navas out. He has had some solid showings of late but I don't think Pep keeps him since he's so limited. Between the other regular wide players, Sterling, KDB, Silva, Nasri, Nasri is obviously the most likely to go. TONS of rumors about Dembele, which I would love. Sane was a reported target a while back.

Bony has to go. It just isn't happening for him here. At first you could at least say, "well hey, he's in position and playing well...the goals will come." It hasn't happened and he doesn't even look good anymore. I have no idea who we sign but we will sign someone. As much as I love Kun, he will undoubtedly miss time...and as much as I love Nacho, I don't think he's ready to be a first-team sole striker.

Yup Gundogan would be a great addition. Gundugan and Pogba, if he's willing to play as a proper CM and not so much CAM, would be massive additions to this team. We'd instantly have one of the best midfields in the world. It would be such a boost to this squad.

I just don't know what to do about Fernando now. He's been so great recently, outside of him completely falling asleep for 5 seconds in Paris. But I suppose you have to move him on anyway since I don't think he's a Pep type DM.

Running midfield 3s of Gundogan, Pogba, and Fernandinho would wreck with Sterling on either wing and KdB and Aguero playing up top.
