Bernardo strained a muscle in training and is out as a precaution.

Wouldn’t mind if Mahrez and Delph don’t suit up again this season.

Boys, this run in is just freaking awful. I have been so focused on Spurs/CP that it totally slipped my mind that the Derby is next effing Wednesday. What a shite show of a schedule. Congrats to Liverpool on the title. Tomorrow is a must win

I think we win the title, but go out of the CL tomorrow.

And I agree, don't want to see Mahrez or Delph out there again. Mahrez looks like he's playing for a different team and Delph has just never really been a City-quality player to me.

re: Manchester City 18-19 thread - Domestic Quadruple
This could be a very bad week - kind of like last year when Liverpool dumped us out of UCL and United came back from 0-2 down in the derby to deny City the title.

I just think the team is going to be emotionally and mentally drained in addition to the ridiculous physical demands placed these past weeks and it will fall out. They should still win the FA cup but anything less than winning out will give the league to Liverpool. Spurs and United still have UCL places to fight for.

Might sound drastic but I just don't think City is mentally/tactically cut out for the UCL. With Real, Barca, and Bayern being "down" this year and given an EPL team in the quarters whom they are 20pts in the table better than and still couldn't do it? After getting crushed by Liverpool last year in the club's greatest league season? It seems mental at this point and all the money in the world might not be able to fix it. This was the year to beat Spurs and then Ajax - the road will never be easier, even if Juventus would have beaten Ajax. City can seemingly hold it together over the length of a season or even group stage but can't do the big time recently.

When have City actually looked good against decent competition in two-legged ties in the UCL? PSG once - that was it (and they have a similar UCL yips to City so it's not even that big of a triumph). They were out of their element against Barca x2 (understandable), Real (also understandable), Liverpool (played scared as hell), and definitely were not themselves over two legs vs Spurs (tried to coast with subpar lineup first leg and put all the pressure on the home second leg).

Gundogan even mentioned the mental fragility of the team leading up. It is definitely something that plays apart with us for some reason.

Tactically, for whatever reason, I think Pep overthinks it at times. The lineup in the first leg was a complete wtf moment that we don’t typically see from him. But if Aguero sinks that penalty I think we win that game and score multiple goals. It being saved I think was another example of our ‘mental toughness’ being fragile as shite.

Stones supposedly set to sign a six-year extension.

Are we more happy we won or that Liverpool didn't?

We were generous in giving them 20 minutes of hope and then smashed that hope.

I’m happier that the result was in doubt for about 20-30 minutes. Love snatching the false hope given.

What a job City has done the past two years. The real question is which is the best EPL team of all time - 2018 or 2019 City?

I would say 18-19 just because they managed to keep pace in the league while going the distance in two domestic cups and reaching the quarters of the UCL.

Congrats on the win fellas! Well deserved. How many more to 18?

Unfortunately we’ll just have to settle for our 6th Champions League trophy.
