He comes from the northern coast of Ireland. Heavy Scottish influence in the town he was born in.

You know how the old New York gangsters used to kill people and then tie a dead weight around the guys' hands and feet before dumping the body. I keep thinking Joe Cole is that dead weight. He's the only remnant of the worst period in our recent history. We need to lose Marlboro Man before LFC can move forward again.

Joe Cole... He played pretty much the whole season in France last year and of course, his first game back with us he's hurt...

I'm curious if he could provide some cover for Gerrard in the CAM role... He is just so depressing out on the wing...

Centrally was the only place he looked halfway decent during the American tour.

The first guy actually looks like he could be Steven Gerrard.

Sky Sports is reporting Del Piero didnt go to Anfield out of respect for Heysel victims.

Weird considering Juve have forgiven and moved on from the incident and the two clubs have had a pretty friendly demeanor in recent years towards one another.

I can see why he'd avoid playing at Liverpool though. It would be like Kenny taking ownership of The Sun.

I mean, I see where you're going with it, but Liverpool still hates the Sun because the Sun hasn't published the truth or given something more than a half-assed, bullshite apology.

Juve fans and Liverpool fans actually get along now. There isn't any hate there anymore, because Liverpool have apologized and owned up to their part in what happened. Also, I think its pretty unfair considering Juventus fans played a part in what happened (to a lesser extent) also.

Maybe, but the Juve fans on Reddit were saying that the supporters would have been distraught if he would have come to Anfield.

When I was in Italy the Juve people I met were pretty cool about Liverpool. But that may not be the norm. What say you wm?

Sky Sports usually reports whatever they can pluck out of the thin air. Their reporting is shite mostly.
That said there may still be people deeply hurt by Heysel who haven't been able to reconcile. Given that Del Peiro bleeds Juventus it may have played a part.
